I have been working on a remix to one of my all time favourite songs by Chic - I Want Your Love, it all started with myself chopping some onions in the kitchen at my girlfriends loool and she decided to play it on her bluetooth speaker and straight away I felt that I so needed to do something with this and now here we are! its mad our one small thing gave me a great idea to work with funny how music works though hey people! I've tried my best with this one and I hope it goes down well when I play it out loud this up and coming Sunday for the Freak Show May bank holiday special with Hannah Wants & The Goldenboy at The Sugarmill Stoke -On-Trent have a listen, share it with all your friends and any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Seth Troxler continues to showcase the work of Chicago great K’Alexi Shelby: after an EP on his other label Tuskegee Music and a remix for Sean Miller on this imprint, Shelby now steps up to Play It Say It with a trio of excellent club cuts. 

K’Alexi Shelby is one of the Windy City’s most venerated heroes. He’s put out six albums and almost 60 EPs since the late eighties, all of which have helped evolve and establish the Chicago house sound around the world. Next to remixing acts like The Pet Shop Boys and Derrick May, he runs his own K Klassik and 321 labels and remains as vital as ever. 

The perfectly titled ‘Groove With Us’ opens up with a cut and paste style, funky disco loops and plenty of filters all bringing the loose house funk. It’s a playful and timeless tune that is designed to blow up the ‘floor and most certainly will thanks to its unbridled energy. 

The dynamic and driving ‘So Chicago’ then slips into a slick house groove, with great percussion, more big string samples lighting up the track and a knotted bassline that keeps you on your toes. Suspenseful and explosive, it’s filled with authentic party vibes and a real sense of fun that will ignite any set. 

Last but not least is the excellent ‘Black Sunday’, which takes uplifting preacher vocals from a church sermon and backs it with gospel singing, an old school baseline and raw energy that will get hands in the air. It’s a definitive piece of authentic house music with real heart and soul. 

This is an expressive EP of house tracks that embody the instinctive and emotive spirit of the genre to perfection.

FUSE London resident, Seb Zito, is experiencing something of a purple patch currently, and his new EP, ‘4 Ever’, on Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two label, follows releases for Eats Everything’s Edible, Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It and Enzo Siragusa’s FUSE London label, as well as his own Seven Dials Records.
 
Incorporating Sabrina Johnston’s vocal, from Key of Life’s 1994 Sub-Urban Records classic, Zito rolls out a swinging, bass heavy, house heater.  Deploying piano riffs and looped vocals, Zito also functions an ace Dub Mix for the heads.
 
Label boss, Richy Ahmed, shows off his garage chops on his remix of ‘4 Ever’, with a tough, swinging drum mix that doffs its cap to the classic New Jersey house sounds.
 
A second original production by Zito, ‘We Need Love’, continues to pursue the unison of garage house sounds, and the techier, acid inflicted vibes that has become a staple sound for this hotly tipped producer & DJ.  Robert James  & Jack Michael join the fold with a pacey and energetic version, resplendent with Reese style bass and truncated vocals.

Breakthrough British DJ and Producer Josh Hvaal touches down on the formidable Hot Creations label this February with two striking cuts ready to be unleashed on the world.

“I feel honoured to be releasing music on Hot Creations, Jamie and Lee have always been a massive influence on me, so to have their backing and belief in my sound feels amazing. The title track 'The Sound' came about by accident, I was playing with a few more modular sounds and accidentally put one of the MIDI drum patterns I’d made onto the bassline channel, then boom 'The Sound' was born." On The Sound a pumping kick and spirited hi-hats lead into a dizzying synth line, progressively more frenzied pulses of electronics are thrown in and collide to create dance floor pandemonium. Stan Smith features more lively percussion, classic rave stabs and bright samples to produce an anthemic melody that moves with bounce over a jacking bassline.

2020 looks set to be a big breakthrough year for 24-year-old Josh Hvaal as he makes his mark on the underground dance music scene. He has already amazed audiences with appearances at Stealth, XOYO, EGG, Lab11 and Lightbox.

His unique and extensive catalogue of high-octane club-ready music influenced by the likes of Paul Johnson, DJ Deeon and DJ Haus has already hit some of the most renowned clubs and festivals in the world, being played by Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed, Latmun, Pawsa, Seb Zito and more. After catching the eye of Jamie Jones with his original and unconventional productions, he was immediately signed for this debut release. From as far back as he can remember Marvin Lambert has always had music close to his heart, It was the turn of the new millennium when this musical journey began. Marvin was lucky enough to have the privilege of owning his first set of turntables at the tender age of 12, With strong early inspirations coming from the likes of Carl Cox, Mauro Picotto, Wu-Tang Clan, 2Pac, Dr Dre, Eminem and Shy Fx. Being blessed with a musical upbringing that involved multiple genres it’s that House Music sound that’s always been the most predominant for him. 

All the way through his teens Marv would find himself completing his weekly ritual spending every Friday night listening to the latest BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, It’s these mixes that helped to inspire him to put in countless hours of practice in his bedroom perfecting his DJ’ing skills. Once the art of mixing was mastered he then went on to college to study music technology this is where Marvin began to learn the production side of music. This step was something he always wanted being able to create his own sound and put a spin on the House Music genre that he could call his own. In 2011 he came across a track that took the world by storm “Azarii & III - Hungry For The Power (Jamie Jones Remix)” the shivers ran down his spine the first time he listened it and from that moment there was no looking back he fount the direction he wanted to go in. 

Since then Marvin has gone on to land himself residencies with one of the Midlands elite brands The Move, Who mix it up with the biggest DJ’s and producers in the world today he is also hugely involved in Freakshow a new event that wants to cause its own storm in the House and Techno world. It doesn’t just stop there global superpowers Defected & Do Not Sleep have also played host to the Marvin Lambert sound when they stopped by in his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent. With a bright future ahead Marvin will continue to put the hours in on his music productions while also continuing to rock the dance floor with his slick mixing skills.
