Time for some mid-summer funk!  We’re VERY excited to present this single off of Metasine’s forthcoming “Groove On” EP, which will be released on Tuesday, August 23rd via WUMP Collective!  This 3-track EP has been a long time in the making, and he has just put the finishing touches on it.  Lots of groovy funk enhanced with some serious BASS! 

Today’s release, “Easy Come Easy Go”, is a wildly creative funky tune with tons of bass and some super sexual vocals by the lovely Samantha Brown.  It moves through several different sections, progressing and building with horns, clever vocal glitches, and that funky Metasine sound.  Plus, you’ll find yourself singing along to Samantha’s vocal riffs, which are a little taste of what’s to come with this incredible vocalist/artist/makeup artist, whose voice is powerful and beautiful all at the same time.  You’ll be dancing the whole way through with a smile on your face, but the last drop will take you by surprise.. that’s all we’ll say about that.  You have been warned.  Let’s just say it’s … “hot”.

Metasine continues to evolve and prove his worth in the scene, with some of the most unique future funk out there.  This is easily some of his best work to date, and he has really come into a sound that combines heavy bass with funk, making his live sets a really special experience. Today’s release has been a long time in the making, and we are ecstatic to finally present Metasine’s ‘Groove On’ EP!  Metasine began working on these songs over a year ago, and let’s just say, it’s worth the wait.  These 3 songs break new ground in the realm of electro-funk, as they offer a taste of the heavier side of things by incorporating TONS of gnarly bass into their funky, groovy compositions.  The message behind the EP is a powerful one, and I think we all get a taste of that crippling self-doubt, coupled with the “real world” game that we must play into.  Working a 9-5 that you don’t care about is a struggle that most of us still face, since music hasn’t yet given us enough financial stability to make this our full-time gig.  We plan on getting there someday, but in the meantime, we feed off of you, the fans, and each other in order to stay focused and continue creating our art.  As Metasine says, “I stand before a fork in this long road, and I choose to Groove On.”- so let’s follow in his footsteps and relentlessly pursue our wildest dreams, and support each other fiercely.

This is a sonic exploration of pain and everything that goes along with it. We feel the heartbreak, the suffering, the darkness, and he orchestrates the experience in a way that truly leaves you breathless as the dissonance works its magic. We are lured into the sadness, sitting in that feeling and allowing it to absorb us, and then illanthropy yanks us into a finale full of something that resembles controlled, cathartic anger and release. Quite a conclusion to the journey that is ‘Daycrawler’, and the feeling will sit with you for a while afterward, lingering in its potency.
