Eric Whitacre’s Virtual Choir 4 Fly to Paradise Remix (Alex Nautilus and Lizabr)

Whew! In the spare moments I had away from my day job over the past week, I've been putting this remix together to be a part of the many talented composers out there who have already submitted their versions of the VC4 Remix. I am truly appreciative to have had the opportunity to showcase my version to the group and be a part of this social collaboration.

I was beyond excited to have the straight choral stems from VC4 as well. I am a massive fan of Eric's choral harmonies and arrangements, so of course I had to use the choir and soloist stems in my mix. But besides using a snippet of the Bass stem, I chose to re-write all the other parts, electronic and orchestral instruments alike. 

 I had the idea of cutting up the vocals from the very start. Indeed it took me a long time to make all the edits and add delay and reverb to give the song its sense of motion, but it was worth it! I am very pleased with the result and I hope those who listen to it like it as well! :)

A small romantic ballad, quite smoothly, sung with my acoustic guitar. Never I would have been able to imagine that I' d sing one day with the soprano Grammy Award Hila Plitmann and a choir of 6000 artists!

A demo recording for a track from "Alligator Alley", an indie film from 1999. It's an old Samoan tune that I arranged. David Noroña singing lead vocals (and vocal 'beatbox', Hila Plitmann singing backup, and Jim Bonney playing guitar. I'm singing the low bass notes at the end.
