"The Mermaid Heaven" is a whimsical song  about a young scout mermaid who possesses the power to absorb human emotional suffering.
Drawn to the land by a curious empathy, she forms a silent bond with humanity, taking their deepest hurts . However, after witnessing the persistent human cycle of violence and self-destruction, symbolized by my lyric "crossing the line" she recognizes the necessity of maintaining the barrier between their two worlds.
In a final, profound act of kindness and grace, she uses her voice once again to wash away all memory of her presence and takes their pain with her as she returns to the ocean.
