Nos vies sont des bateaux que les années emportent
Sur des océans calmes ou bien des mers trop fortes
On navigue au hasard et l'on cherche fortune
Prêt à livrer bataille pour décrocher la Lune

Et si le vent du nord
Gonflait nos voiles
Irions nous vers ces ports
Où rien ne se dévoile
Mais les hommes ont si peur
Du bruit de la fureur
De leur propre douleur
Et de leur créateur

On dérive parfois sur des courants d'hier
Les yeux pleins d'horizons pleins de frontières
De nos sillons blessés on revient les mains vides
Et ce temps qui nous double après la dernière ride

Et si le vent du nord
Gonflait nos voiles
Irions nous vers ces ports
Où rien ne se dévoile
Mais les hommes ont si peur
Du bruit de la fureur
De leur propre douleur
Et de leur créateur

Nos vies sont des bateaux que tout brise sans cesse
Pauvres marins échoués sans signal de détresse
Naufragés ridicules sur de pauvres écueils
On se noie dans un verre en buvant notre orgueil

Et si le vent du nord
Gonflait nos voiles
Irions nous vers ces ports
Où rien ne se dévoile
Mais les hommes ont si peur
Du bruit de la fureur
De leur propre douleur
Et de leur créateur

Et chantent les sirènes et partent les curieux
Tentés par des chimères et qu'importe le lieu
Courageux ambitieux sur les chemins du sort
Ignorant les étoiles et l'ange qui s'endort

Our lives are boats that the years carry away
On calm oceans or heavy seas
We sail at random and seek our fortune
Ready to fight for the moon

And if the north wind
Were to fill our sails
Would we head for these ports
Where nothing is revealed
But men are so afraid
Of the noise of fury
Of their own pain
And of their creator

Sometimes we drift on yesterday's currents
Eyes full of horizons full of frontiers
From our wounded furrows we return empty-handed
And this time that doubles us after the last wrinkle

And if the north wind
Would fill our sails
Would we head for these ports
Where nothing is revealed
But men are so afraid
Of the noise of fury
Of their own pain
And of their creator

Our lives are ships that are constantly being broken
Poor sailors stranded without a distress signal
Ridiculous castaways on poor reefs
We drown in a glass drinking our pride

And if the north wind
Would fill our sails
Would we head for these ports
Where nothing reveals itself
But men are so afraid
Of the noise of fury
Of their own pain
And of their creator

And the sirens sing and the curious depart
Tempted by chimeras and who cares where
Courageously ambitious on the paths of fate
Ignoring the stars and the sleeping angel
