[CONCEPT]
In this song, I wanted to encourage people who are struggling with fitting into society. Some might be given no chance to speak up even when their rights are infringed. Or, some might be forgotten as if they are tiny stones on the street. When it comes to the primal enemy we should overcome, I believe that is the fear inside of ourselves. Fear of standing up, of being refused by, of changing their lives, etc. The time is changing now; with a little courage, live life as yourself.

[CONCEPT]
This is a song encouraging all people who are in love to be brave. Love makes us not only powerful, but also vulnerable, and there is no difference between gender, age, and ethnicity. For example, if people passed their middle age, they might be seen as if they are no longer entitled to fall in love with someone. I think it's unfair and pitiful, and it's the same on gender stereotyping: men also could be as vulnerable as being awake overnight thinking about the girl who he crushes on! Don't be afraid to fall in love and not be too strategic. Believe that there should be someone who will care about you, just the way you are.

In this busy modern world, our minds would easily get irritated and distracted by unwanted emails, overflowing information, and the dizzying speed of change. Patience is the key to surviving this age, but it's nearly impossible to always keep it in our minds. Patience never sits still like a little kid. Why don't we start by acknowledging the wandering nature of our minds? It's the starting point of getting mental peace.

Hakata in Fukuoka city is one of the great rock n' roll scenes in Japan. It has its own style. I wrote this song as a homage to the Hakata rock n' roll a.k.a. Hakata mentai rock. "Shelly" is a girl and she's out of my league. With a lot of help from my imagination, I enjoyed writing the song.

I’ve been wanting to write a song to support people who are suffering from bullying, being ignored or any friction between relationships. It's a pity to hear the news about people ending their life by themselves in despair, especially if they were kids. If it was nearly impossible to find security at work, school or home, it could be likely for anyone to feel living is nothing, but torture and meaningless. You don't have to be controlled the way you live by someone else. Let’s find a place to feel secure and know that running away doesn’t mean becoming a loser. Living your own life is a series of amazing moments.

I came to realize that I've always been overwhelmed by my own thoughts and emotions. It seems that it’s been programmed to interrupt my concentration whatever I try. Living without taking care of your mind is like sailing on the ocean in a turbulent storm by a wooden raft. You can't be a procrastinator in taking care of your mind. With a little bit of courage and patience, calmly accept the existence of the clutter within your mind. It’s the first step to clearing up the raging storm of your thoughts and emotions.

[CONCEPT]
This short piece is about our dependence on our phones and the heavy use of search engines. I admit those are indisputably handy and give us a sense of satisfaction by showing answers to our questions at any given time. But at the same time, I'm feeling that we need to give space to ambiguity. If people came to think putting heads together to solve problems was inefficient and the last thing they could do, then where was the value of exchanging words with others and making an effort to live peacefully on Earth in the first place? Rather than keep scrolling down the screen with red eyes, why don’t you close your eyes for some moments and listen to the sound surrounding you? Or, while you’re in the passenger seat, it should always be better to engage in a conversation with the person next to you than to keep swiping until you get a new comment on the post of your selfie at the party last night.

[CONCEPT]
The outbreak of Russia’s war in Ukraine and the murder of the former Japanese PM during an election campaign are still fresh in our minds. Also, nationalists have gained political power in countries over recent decades. Through this song, as a musician, I’d like to address  that we can’t take peace for granted and need to stop apathy from prevailing among us. When we stop craving peace and justice and giving up bringing them to the world, then there should be a nest for egoism and exclusivism which ultimately lead to establishing an undemocratic society. To start, let’s recall the victims of those tragedies at the happiest time of year. And let’s remind ourselves of how valuable peace is and how easily it could be deprived of us.

Today, we’ve come to witness others’ private lives. In their photos on social media, their lives look perfect. Many of us have found ourselves comparing our lives with theirs. Some may be convinced by the false idea that buying more luxury things and visiting more exotic places would bring them happiness. But I don’t believe this kind of happiness will be long-lasting. Instead, how about starting to pay more attention to what we already have – our things, good health, relationships – etc.? When we appreciate these things and enjoy them, then we can find happiness in our minds.

[CONCEPT]
This song is about how we can avoid being consumed by our own thoughts and emotions.  Many people might have experienced them getting active, as if they’re nocturnal creatures, when going to bed. Those thoughts and emotions could be self-criticism, things people said to you in the past or fear of the uncertain future, etc. As if there was a movie theatre in your head, scenes created by your mind would be played repeatedly. But don’t forget those are just creations of your mind. To be liberated from them: first, realize yourself getting drawn into the thoughts, and then, feel the rhythms of your breath coming in and out. You will find that your mind is getting calmer and calmer.

You might have heard the doubtful version of yourself whispering in your ear,  “Am I really 
okay to keep on doing this?” Today, we have access to a lot of information that seemingly helps us achieve our goals. But, this might also make it challenging to focus on what we’ve decided to achieve. If you get stuck in the mire of skepticism towards your decision, you may overlook the simple fact: no matter how well-equipped, you won't reach anywhere if you don't start the journey. Trust your past self who has made the decision, and continue to focus on doing what you’ve decided to do. Ultimately, this will build momentum and get you closer to your goals.

I dedicate this song to all the guitar kids around the world. Looking back on my days as a “guitar kid”, I couldn’t fit in at school and didn’t know how to make friends. Listening to my favorite rock bands and playing the guitar was not only my sole consolation but also helped me find hope in life. I want to tell you that there’s no reason to think that you're miserable because you’re alone. I believe real progress is made when you give your full attention to the task you’re engaged in and this can be done by embracing solitude. [CONCEPT]
I want to emphasize that all creatures on Earth are connected to each other in the sense that we're all sharing this planet for a short time. In this sense, there should not be any discrimination based on the fallacy that certain faiths, races, and genders are superior to others. Also, I believe even humans are just members of the community of all creatures on Earth. In the course of thinking about happiness for all, an idea struck me that if we could shed light on this fundamental truth and maintain it, we would be able to live together in harmony. I believe being aware of this sense of connection enables us to transcend any boundaries and seek happiness for all creatures on Earth.

50s rockabilly style song. The first verse, "My dad said 'You can't live by just playing the guitar'" is a true story. It was enough to discourage me as a teenager. But, it drove me to make this rock n' roll song. It's inevitable to hear something that discourages you, but you shouldn't take it. Just believe what you're doing.
