Welcome to the 46th episode of the Masala Movement Podcast series, For this show we have a duo named https://soundcloud.com/baalti from San Francisco. Their highly percussive and rhythm-driven style effortlessly blends UK-influenced club music with South Asian sounds and flavours. They released their debut EP in 2021 and a set of singles a year later, picking up critical acclaim from the likes of ResidentAdvisor, DJ Mag, and Mixmag along the way. They are now releasing a much anticipated sophomore EP with Berlin based Seb Wildblood’s label All My Thoughts.

Default (Parag Thakur) a mumbai based DJ.
As a Dj his career is primarily focused on sub-genres such as house, deep, dub, techno, minimal, groove, breaks, funk, jungle, etc. Also, he is open to all kinds of music and always seeks opportunities to learn from the DJs and producers who inspire him.
He discovered electronic music when he was 16 years old and has been digging and evolving ever since. As for music, he always aimed to transmit the energy and emotion to the floor while he is behind the decks. As he carefully curates his selections for his listeners, he believes that music is the only hope among all the chaos around.
