We welcome back one of our own hometown heroes, Jonathan Kaspar. Through holding down a residency at the fabled Gewölbe club, to releases on Pets Recordings, Objektivity, Ouïe and our own KX imprint, Jonathan Kaspar has proved to be one of the most exceptionally gifted producers and DJ’s to emerge from Cologne in recent time.

Though the clubs have remained closed since he came to us with his Kompakt debut “Kante”, his inspiration clearly remains unwavered with “Muster EP”. An acid tinged groove throbs to incredible momentum on the title track “Muster”. Follow the heartbeat with “Alle” as Jonathan brings the electro funk forward with his first foray into using his own vocals. A French touched rumble bass gives “Beton” all the flow and more for those early hour moments we all are craving again. The closer “Heber” is a classic opener – a subtle percussion rhythm gets built around sky high synths and a sweet house high hat to warm up any night.

The digital version comes with a stripped down version of Beton!

Continuing a strong start to the year, Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Domingo + back to the label for his first solo EP. As one half of the Mariner + Domingo duo, American artist Chris Domingo has compiled an impressive resume across an eighteen-month stretch. Upon making his debut on Balkan Connection in July of 2020, the Florida resident went on a remarkable run, landing releases via 3rd Avenue, Proton Music, RYNTH, and The Purr. Perhaps his most comfortable landing spot was Madloch's long-standing Sound Avenue imprint, where Mariner + Domingo released ten originals across ten months, none more impactful than ‘Another Life' and ‘Inertia', which earned play and support from Lee Burridge and Sebastien Leger respectively.
Now embarking on his future musical endeavors in solo capacity, Domingo + returns to Sound Avenue with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Hardway'.

As Domingo + continues to operate at a creative peak, it is the jubilant sounds of ‘Hardway' which set the course for this new career path. Played out over seven sun-drenched minutes, a storyboard of vocal fragments and Mediterranean motifs gets intertwined with chunky bass tones, clustered chimes, and dusty percussion. Sitting at the heart of the journey, a spirited interlude carries the youthful spirit of the vocal, set against a backdrop of aquatic cascades, before eventually melting down into a glowing finale.

Coming in deeper and more organic is the companion piece ‘Falling Apart'. Acting as an ideal complement to its predecessor, a forest of exotic drums and juxtaposed vocal phrasing paints a contemplative narrative. Mysterious and mystical, the main break furthers the affectionate vocal, sitting amidst muted tones and flickering percussion, before giving way to an unassuming drop and tastefully restrained conclusion. It rounds out two exceptional tracks from Domingo +, who not only makes a triumphant return to Sound Avenue, but gets his solo endeavors off to a tremendous start.

The superb and original cover art is from the artist Luiz de Souza and is a gorgeous painting in oil and acrylic on canvas. Change opens up and is a deep house roller with an organic sound and beautiful melodies. It really sends shivers down the spine with its lush strings and then the Beatamines Remix brings a more dusty and glitchy vibe with funky bass.    Japan’s leading dance music producer and DJ.  "STUDIO APARTMENT”(SA) as a track unit, has released 9 original albums and more than 300 original tracks from various labels (Defected,Toolroom, King Street, Soul Candi, etc) around the globe.

  SA has won the top of the “BEST OF DEEP HOUSE 2008” and also being in chart of “BEST DEEP HOUSE TRACK” in 2009 on Beatport with their original track. This was very first achievement by producer from Asia.

  In addition, 8 of their original tracks were ranked as no 1 in the full chart of  "Traxsource" which is the biggest house music download site. In the recent Japanese music industry, they are one of few artists who left foot print in the global music arena. 

  SA also attends world’s dance music conference ADE(Amsterdam Dance Event) as well as WMC(Winter Music Conference) in Miami (ADE 4 years in row/WMC 9 years in row), in 2012 Masanori played resident DJ at the world’s biggest dance club “Privilege Ibiza” (with the capacity of 12,000 audience) which is found in the GUNESS BOOK.  

Outside of music scene, through the collaboration with the glasses producer "OLIVER PEOPLES" SA released first model "SAOP" from [STUDIO APARTMENT × OLIVER PEOPLES] globally in 2009. 2nd model was also released as「SAOPⅡ」in 2011.

  In their home country Japan, for the celebration of STUDIO APARTMENT 10 years anniversary, "JAPANESE SONG"(EMI) and "MINNA NO UTA"(EMI) were released in 2012. Most of the tracks were written in Japanese language for the first time since the unit had started.  

These 2 albums staring the hottest artists in Japan such as KETSUMEISHI, KISHIDAN, TRF, MEISA KUROKI, JAY’ED, RIP SLYME, MISIA, KEN HIRAI, CRYSTAL KAY and "LIFE" by KIMAGUREN (STUDIO APARTMENT Remix) was tied up with au mobile phone ”Spotio” CM. The track achieved over 2,000,000 downloads as a remix record.

  SA organised one of the biggest house party at ageHa in summer,  WORLD MUSeUM(from 2008) has great attention from all over the world. “STUDIO APARTMENT band” has over 40 musicians (12 strings/6 horn section/10 chorus) on stage and performed live house music and event DVD was released in 2009.

  In 2006, STUDIO APARTMENT established their own label, Apt. and Apt. They debuted a lot of artists of the new generation of Japan. The artists representing Japan from the label are DAISHI DANCE, PAX JAPONICA GROOVE etc.   

SA also released tracks produced by the top dance music producer such as Dennis Ferrer, Kerri Chandler, Jarome Sydenham and plays significant role to introduce world’s standard dance music to Japan nation.

  Currently they are working on a lot of new tracks for their new project.
