Masaraka Is a Producer Duo consisting in Gato Mendez and Tremofreaks also known as Tremo. They define music, as an unlimited international language. Producing and Promoting music with no borders between genres, Founded in June 2006, supporting electronic music escene, and upcoming audiovisual artists.

Masaraka: an intermediary between the sacred and man.

In an study by the French anthropologist Marc de Civrieux about Maquiritare and Kariña´s Indians, There is a reference that the first shaman initiated by spirits in the cultivation and use of snuff.

The author Says:

According to a Kariña´s myth collected by us on the Mesas de Guanipa, the snuff was born from the corpse of the first man Whose the grandparents Spirits of Wisdom tried to start, but having disobeyed an order from these spirits, this man died. His son Masaraka was the recipient of the initiation of the invisibles, with the order to grow the snuff and drink it. (Civrieux, 1974)

From these lines comes the intention to make the group name, in a Mix between the eastern ancient ethnic of Venezuela and a transculturation product: Masaraka.

Masaraka Records: was born in 2011 in order to show the music of the Producer Duo "Masaraka" and his roster of friends that they support. Is the Home of Top Cat Records & Le Ronca Records, personal projects by Gato Mendez & Tremofreaks for boost their jobs.
