"The Observatory has had a really great first year, hosting many go-to mixes for me, so I feel humbled to round off the series in 2023. Thanks to Jay for the invite and to all the previous contributors for setting the bar so high.

As the world grows exponentially more complex and unjust, music is ever the stabilising force. In November this year I was invited by the Bleep43 crew to DJ alongside some incredible artists at an event in east London - this mix pulls together a lot of the music I played that day, including many tracks from the label I co-run, Frequency Domain. Recorded one afternoon while in bed with a cold, I hope it puts you in a good place."

"The vision + photo of a winter sunset on Lake Michigan became the starting point. From there, the mix evolved into three movements that were influenced by the Metro/Smartbar "23 Hour Party People" chill room sets through which I first got to know Hi-Vis. Even though it is intended for deep listening, it sounds best at high volume with proper bass."

"Truly, I feel privileged to have been able to craft a sonic space for Temple. And to have done it with the volume so high and with such equipment. Over two (strange) (eclectic) (kitschy) hours, I simulated being a sensitive algorithm, choosing only and exclusively songs that once moved me and that, far from their real labels, have always been in the same drawer. A personal Moebius strip, as a good friend said after the set. It seems that if you close your eyes and let yourself be carried away, genres merge and disappear: only the emotion and commitment remain. Endless thanks (still today and always) to those who trusted me and to those who came to let themselves go. Long live Temple."
