Surrounded by a mass of swirling souls stood a trio of nature’s fiercest warriors, their hairs bristling with a barely contained mixture of rage and aggression that sharpened them to a razor’s edge. With claws bared they stood staunchly within the maelstrom, searching for a near-imperceptible core that lay somewhere within. A corrupted skull, the workings of a warlock whom had borne a curse upon the once peaceful resting places of these innumerable dead, was the source of the conflagration of undeath that inched ever closer as it twisted around the trio, and its destruction was the key to their survival.

As the ripples in the dead tide began to lap at the feet of the ursine trio, it was in tandem that they spotted the skull that lay within, its eyes replaced with blood red rubies etched in the runes that had bound such an unholy amalgamation of beings to existence. Acting on the impulse of their perfectly honed instinct, the trio lunged at once towards this horrific visage. In doing so they bore the full brunt of the soulstorm that whipped around them, pushing past the very energies of death as they sought to strike at their sole chance for salvation. With primal fury, each of the three levied blows that landed true, tearing the cursed gems from the being’s eye sockets and rending its structure in two. With a single anguished scream, the souls so bound cried out for but a moment before being dismissed by the reactive force of the magic that had once held them. Once again the TEDDY KILLERZ had dealt a triumphant blow, delivering CRITICAL DAMAGE unto another foe that had sought to see them fall.

Founded in 1995 Renegade Hardware has been at the forefront of pioneering the techstep and neurofunk sound and is regarded as one of the most influential labels in Drum & Bass.

With a history expanding almost 30 years, the label was the gateway to some of the scenes leading artists of today, such as Loxy & Ink, Chase & Status, Friction, Noisia, Spor, Audio, Phace, Calyx & Teebee, Konflict, Prolix, to name a few, gracing its historic back catalogue.

In 2016, after more than two decades at the forefront of the scene, Renegade Hardware announced its closure. The label's final chapter was marked by a series of releases and farewell events that brought together fans, artists, and industry insiders to pay tribute to its legacy. 

Fast forward to the present, and with a complete reshape, Renegade Hardware returns with the highly anticipated remix album “From The Vaults”, which features an eclectic mix of future artists who have reimagined some of the most iconic tracks from Renegade Hardware's historic back catalogue.

Over two decades since its release, Konflict’s ‘Messiah’ continues to be celebrated as a Drum & Bass classic and is widely regarded as one of the greatest tracks ever written within the Drum & Bass realm. Only 2 artists have had the honour to remix this track - Noisia & Spor. Now, the Anglo-Russian duo Magnetude takes up the mantle, presenting their eagerly anticipated remix that takes listeners on an electrifying adventure. While paying homage to Konflict's original brilliance, Magnetude infuse their unmistakable, high-octane dancefloor energy and signature call-and-response dynamics, breathing new life into this timeless masterpiece.

Rift makes a powerful return on Dispatch Limited with the Black & Gold EP, a five-track collection that marks a fresh chapter in his sound. After stepping back from production to reset his creative direction, Rift channels a rawer approach, drawing on the influence of early 2000s drum & bass while weaving in the tense, atmospheric qualities of cinematic scores. The result is an EP that feels both stripped-back and expansive, balancing heavy pressure with eerie, suspenseful sound design.

The project is also shaped by visual art. The title track, “Black & Gold,” was the first piece written for the EP, sparked by inspiration from Bill Elis’ artwork. The visual tone of his work set the foundation not only for the track itself but also for the identity of the full release.

Across the EP, Rift explores themes of unease and intensity. From the brooding atmospheres of “Teardrops” and “Paralysed” to the rolling momentum of “Tremors” and “Sinners,” the journey culminates in the title track’s stark and cinematic presence. Each cut feels deliberately crafted, reflecting both a reverence for drum & bass history and a forward-focused creative vision.

The Black & Gold EP has already gained strong support across the scene, with Philth playing a central role in championing the tracks both in sets and during the production process. Additional support has come from Enta and Cause4Concern, underlining the impact of Rift’s return.
