[24/09/2025] The Conditions, Pillars & Requirements of the Prayer - by Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān. 

The main points covered in this lesson:

The Obligations of the Prayer are Eight:

1. All of the Takbīrs - except for the opening Takbīr.
2. Saying Subhāna Rabbee Al-Adtheem (Perfect is my Lord, the Most Great) while bowing.
3. Saying Sami’ Allahu Liman Hamida (Allah hears the one who praises him) - for the one leading the prayer or praying alone.
4. Rabbana wa Lakal-Hamd (Our Lord, to you belongs the Praise) - this applies to everyone.
5. Saying Subhāna Rabbe Al-‘Ala (Perfect is my Lord, the Most High) while prostrating.
6. Saying Rabb Ighfir Lee (My Lord Forgive me) while sitting in between prostrations.
7. The First Tashahhud.
8. Sitting for the first Tashahhud.

– if anyone of these obligations have been missed deliberately then the prayer will be invalid.
– if any of the obligations have been missed unintentionally then you make up the prayer with the two prostrations of forgetfulness.
– Difference of opinion regarding the saying Sami’ Allahu liman Hamida.
– All of the obligations are verbal - actions of the tongue, except for one, and that is the sitting for the first Tashahhud.
– When to say the takbir and Sami’ Allahu liman Hamida out loud. 
– Is the saying of Sami’ Allahu liman Hamida to be verbalised out loud when being led in the prayer.
– An example of a narration regarding the night prayer explaining the generality of the Prophet’s ﷺ explanation of the matter.
– Another example regarding a narration of the Mu’adhdhin.
– if a pillar of the prayer is missed, intentionally or unintentionally then the prayer will be invalid.
– If the Sunnan of the prayer is missed then this does not invalidate the prayer.
– The sacredness of the prayer.

– What is correct wording to say in the Tashahhud?
– How is the wiping of the head in Wudu’ to be wiped?
– What should be said after making Wudu’ and will be a means to enter paradise?
– Can dua be made for oneself during the Tashahhud and can it be made in English?

Cooperation upon righteousness and piety.
The preservation of the Qur'ān, and the promise of Allāh.
The Speech of Allāh - The Most High. 
The Loftiness of Allāh - The Most High.
Everything that the slave requires is contained within the tremendous Book.
 Implementation of the Qur'ān in one's daily life. 
The recompense of the one who neglects the Qur'ān.
