How To Develop Patience Shaykh Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah Lesson 2

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions and true followers.

[13/01/2023] The Disappearance of Knowledge – Khutbah By Abul-Ḥasan Mālik Al-Akhdar حفظه الله. Masjid Salafi, Birmingham, UK.

Some points covered during this Khutbah:

- The virtue of knowledge.
- Ibn Ḥajar al-‘Asqalānī (رحمه الله) on the double reward given to the people of knowledge.
- Following the example of the Companions in busying ourselves with studying the Dīn of Allāh and not being preoccupied with the affairs of the dunyā.
- The diligence of Abū Hurayrah (رضى الله عنه) in seeking knowledge.
- Benefits from the narration regarding Yaḥyā b. Ya’mar and Ḥumayd b. ‘Abdur-Raḥmān al-Ḥimyarī’s (رحمهم الله) meeting with ‘Abdullāh b. ‘Umar (رضى الله عنه) to ask him about those who denied al-Qadar.
- The tradition of taking the opportunity of Ḥajj or ‘Umrah to study at the feet of the scholars. 
- The virtue of age and experience in the Dīn of Allāh.
- The staunch stance of ‘Abdullāh b. ‘Umar (رضى الله عنه) regarding those who violated the correct creed, despite how much they learned. 
- A person memorising or possessing knowledge does not necessitate that knowledge should be taken from him, and an example from Imām Aḥmad (رحمه الله) in this regard. 
- The acceptance of the narration of the trustworthy.
- Abū Hurayrah’s (رضى الله عنه) encouragement of the people to take from the inheritance left by the Messenger ﷺ.

In this lesson ustadh covered the first Principle which is "Making the religion purely for Allaah alone'

Making the religion sincerely and purely for Allaah alone, the Most High, 
without any partners and the explanation of its opposite which is Shirk 
(associating partners) with Allaah, and [the explanation] that the majority of 
the Qur’aan is in explanation of this foundation, from a variety of different 
angles, with such words that even the least intelligent from the common-folk 
can understand.

Then, when there occurred to the Ummah what occurred [to it], Shaytaan 
presented to them [what they presumed to be] Ikhlaas by portraying a picture 
of belittlement of the Righteous people and absence of the fulfilment of their 
rights. And he made Shirk to appear amongst them in the form of love of the 
Righteous and their followers.
