[03/11/2023] Chapter: The Virtues of Ṭalḥah b. ‘Ubaydillāh (رضى الله عنه) – Explanation of Kitāb As-Sunnah from Sunan Ibn Mājah [Lesson 106] – by Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Wāhid حفظه الله.

Some points covered by Abu Khadeejah حفظه الله during this lesson:
- The Virtues of the Companions of the Messenger ﷺ [Part 16].
- Chapter: The Virtues of Ṭalḥah b. ‘Ubaydillāh (رضى الله عنه).
- Ḥadīth #125 [very weak but made ṣaḥīh by different supporting chains].
- The martyrdom of ‘Umar and ‘Uthmān (رضى الله عنهما).
- That which is established regarding what occurred after the death of ‘Uthmān. 
- How Ṭalḥah and Zubayr (رضى الله عنهما) were targeted and unjustly killed by the munāfiqūn who infiltrated the ranks of the Muslims.
- The types of munāfiqūn who cause discord and enmity within our ranks.
- An overview of “The Translation Movement” in the time of al-Ma’mūn from Banul-‘Abbās.
- Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) on the likes of al-Ghazālī and al-Juwaynī.
- Philosophers refuting other philosophers.
- Caution regarding pseudo-science and social justice warriors used to infiltrate the education system and indoctrinate our children.

2. What is the ruling on having non-Muslim friends when there is little or no da’wah given to them?
3. What is the ruling on sisters wearing high heels, is this disallowed? 
4. When did the Prophet ﷺ call Ṭalḥah b. ‘Ubaydillāh a walking martyr?
5. My car insurance has quoted me an annual price, however if I decide to pay in instalments it will cost £70 extra over the year. Would this be identified as interest?

Based on the hadeeth of ibn Umar:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Surely! Everyone of you is a guardian and is responsible for his charges: The Imam (ruler) of the people is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects; a man is the guardian of his family (household) and is responsible for his subjects; a woman is the guardian of her husband's home and of his children and is responsible for them; and the slave of a man is a guardian of his master's property and is responsible for it. Surely, everyone of you is a guardian and responsible for his charges."

- The third matter: Quotes of the Imāms of the Salaf combating that which opposes al-Ittiba’ [cont’d].
- A warning from Sahl b. ‘Abdillāh at-Tustarī (رحمه الله) regarding a time when the people will flee from the one clinging to the Sunnah; and his speech regarding being questioned on the Day of Judgement for introducing anything into knowledge.
- Imām ‘Uthmān b. Sa’īd ad-Dārimī (رحمه الله) on [true] knowledge, and its condition. 
- A beautiful explanation from Shaykh Rabī (حفظه الله) regarding what constitutes beneficial knowledge.
- Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Qudāmah (رحمه الله) on the obligation of following the straight path the Messenger ﷺ was upon.
- Abūl-‘Āliyah (رحمه الله) on the verse, “Guide us to the straight path.” [Sūrah al-Fātiḥah 1:6]
- Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) on the obligation of having knowledge and awareness of the guidance of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, and our need for that being greater than every other necessity. 
- The three categories of people in this regard.
