After their experimental musical ritual CLEANSING DRONES FOR LOCKED DOWN HOMES, a series of 56 consecutive livestream concerts designed to express emotional and artistic turmoil during a state of emergency, and the release of their band TRIALOGOS’ first album STROH ZU GOLD, they are taking collective soul searching to a further stage. On this path they gain a new artistic vision and arrive at a transvaluation of the musical field in between Krautrock, noise, drone and instant composition. 

Kiki Bohemia and Sicker Man have been working together on stage and in the studio for several years now, expanding their means of musical expressiveness by exploring different varieties of experimental music, from doom metal to site-specific composition. Following Pauline Oliveros’ concept of Deep Listening as a radical form of activism and Tony Conrad’s idea that minimal music requires maximum expression, they develop their unique and distinctive spectrum of sound. Relaxed, roaming, holding on to nothing, letting itself be, as if of its own accord. An intimate approach to composing, relying entirely on the associative powers of their music, leading to the creation of a visceral sonic language of its own. 

Waiting for wood continues the line of flight of their latest work, exploring the interstitial space with increased sonic awareness, and opening up a whole new cosmos of self-transcendence.

Interbellum stands for the period between World War I and World War II.
This is such an interesting subject in terms like ambiance and emotion.
I divide this whole period into three episodes in time and ambiance.
The first part has an ambiguous feel to it. It’s like the mind is deflating and doesn’t feel a positive or a negative emotion. It’s just being in an open crack in time, dreaming like.
The second part is moving more vaguely and maybe a bit more positive in the daze-state; eventually turning to the harsh reality and feeling of meaninglessness and hopelessness. Here we experiment with reaching to one pitch and trying to experiment with the oscillating prime dissonances.

I had the idea while running, to put this experience into music.
First I made a collage of field-recordings that I took while running.
My jogging-journey always starts in the midst of the city of Ghent and after a while, passing a few buzzy streets and neighborhoods, I cross a bridge that leads me away from the city into a more gently sounding nature-like district. 
The recording was played live in the room while we improvised over it.
Finally I automized some panning effects in my DAW to enhance the listening experience, because of the link with the change of sound while running.
The piece begins in my room. I close the door and enter the city.
Sound is picking up and changes continuously.
Eventually we reach the bridge and the nature across it.
The music opens up, analog with the environment while running and my breathing is getting more intense. Aside from this physical intensity the mind is switching in a sort of pleasurable way and the personal thoughts are getting much nicer and clearer.
The surroundings are getting softer and finally the music fades out with the breathing.
