Oefenmeesters. with Maskilo Man, Tifra and Creznight [BCR23/10/20]

@iambigote makes us float through an emotional journey in the fifth episode of our series. 

'I’m sure this will surprise a lot of people but in the last months I’ve been struggling in listening to music, especially dance music and something like this never happened to me. I couldn’t focus properly but I have later found myself having some sort of relief when checking out ambient stuff only. I guess this is strictly connected to the rollercoaster of emotions during this pandemic, definitely a very surreal time to live in.

I recorded this mix in one take, the morning after a pretty difficult night where I had trouble sleeping and slept roughly 3-4 hours only. In the beginning the idea was to build up a selection gravitating around the concept of “floating”, as a metaphor of how most people - me included - are living their lives right now, trying to find their own way to cope with this situation. To do this, I quickly checked some tracks that I had in mind and wanted to play for sure and then I take it from there, following the feeling and putting all the other pieces together.
The result is an emotional journey that pretty much showcases the mood swings and different moments I went through these months, which included (not only but) also introspection, meditation, nervousness, confusion and feeling spaced out by not having the usual social life - deejay activity included, of course.

This is definitely a special podcast for me, cause I usually don’t have many chances to play such a selection in public so thanks Healing House for making it possible.'
