It’s a soul-drenched dancefloor meditation that taps into the timeless tension of love and longing.  With its raw vocal hooks (courtesy of Lady Linn), analog warmth, and stripped-down groove, the original cut is pure FCL: emotionally rich, effortlessly deep, and aimed straight at discerning dance floors.

Bringing fresh heat to the 2014 original, three heavyweights of house and techno step in for remix duties—each reworking the track in their own signature style. First up, Jimpster injects his trademark deep, jazzy finesse, flipping ‘Can We Try’ into a swirling, soulful roller—lush pads, Moog flourishes, and enough swing to keep bodies moving and hearts locked in.

Ben Hixon, the Dallas-based underground wizard, lays down a chunky, hardware-heavy rework full of crunchy drums and woozy funk.  It's lo-fi soul with hi-fi intent. Deetron closes it out with a peak-time bomb—big room pressure, hypnotic bass, intense stabs and the kind of tension-release dynamics that only a true craftsman can deliver.

He kicks off with the funky horns and disco lushness of 'Up & Down', then 'JaJaJa' slows things down and layers in some chunky drums to a cosmically-minded workout. 'Unity Together' is a percussive jumble with funky hooks and grooves that are always on the move and bubbling beneath the smooth vocals. Last but not least is 'Feeling It', which we really love. This one has a buttery male vocal adding weight to buoyant and instrumental disco grooves that dazzle with bright melodies and life-giving strings. A wonderfully uplifting EP.

Mike Sandcastle steps up for the eighth instalment on the Jolene Records imprint this October, comprising four original cuts from the UK artist.

Blackpool-born house producer Mike Sandcastle is fast emerging as one of the UK’s most distinctive new electronic voices, blending raw club energy with an intricately sampled, filter house aesthetic. Rooted in the vibrant sounds of classic house yet unafraid to experiment with modern techniques, Sandcastle channels the spirit of the underground into tracks that feel both timeless and forward-thinking and have found a home on the likes of Midnight Riot, The Discography Lessons, SHEE's Secret Society and of course Jolene where he returns here.

Leading the release is ‘Party With Me’, a five-minute excursion through disco licks, emotive vocals, choppy sample work and sweeping filters, intertwined with a bouncy bass groove and skippy rhythm section. ‘Love Takes Two’ follows next and fuses phased out sweeping synth lines and soaring vocals with plucked bass notes and a saturated drum groove.

‘When I’m With You’ opens the B-side and dives headfirst into choppy sample work as perfectly looped guitars, pitched vocal chants and driving low end intertwine with crisp percussion. ‘Whistle’ then concludes the EP on a deeper tip, laying focus on organic drum sounds, a snaking bass line, cinematic strings, jazzy melodies and a breathy spoken word vocal.
