To celebrate their 10th anniversary, London DJ, tastemaker and label collective https://soundcloud.com/slothboogie have curated their first album project, ‘Dancing With Friends’ set for release on 26th June.
SlothBoogie started back in 2010 as a blog run by a group of mates curating house and disco sounds which quickly grew into a highly engaged core community from all over the world. Dance music fans would flock to the site for daily discoveries of the latest edits and long forgotten underground tracks. At its peak the site would regularly hit 10,000 unique visitors a month. Now, some 10 years later, SlothBoogie are one of the most respected underground music collectives in London playing host to beloved parties, a weekly radio show and guest mix series, and running their hotly tipped record label. Dancing With Friends’ is a 17 track exploration of the distinctive and varied SlothBoogie soundscapes, and will be available as a 4 track vinyl sampler, with a mixed and unmixed digital compilation. Limited edition T-shirts will also be available via Everpress.
Covering a wide spectrum of styles, brooding cuts from Levan and Philippa showcase silky smooth deepness, while later, Ninja Tune affiliate Letherette and Kassian hint at the rawness of the UK House aesthetic leading on to Detroit infused textures from Ruff Stuff and the late night jazziness of Soul Wun. A reflection of SlothBoogie’s commitment to curating the best in underground dance music and giving a platform to new artists in the scene, ‘Dancing With Friends’ will open minds to a world of dance music you never knew existed and offer a warm embrace to those who’ve been supporting SlothBoogie throughout their ten year journey.

Starting off with our man from Helsinki, Saine, and his „love music“ - the title says it all! A track that can be played anywhere anytime. Moving on to another good old friend, Andy Ash. Andy has been around for many years, releasing on labels like Delusions of Grandeur and Stilove4music. „Bread“ has a rough yet smooth bleepy edge and a nice old school flair. The flipside presents two new faces, Jank and Decent Rides. Japanese artist Jank is like one of these hidden gems! He alredy released on City Fly, Boogie Cafe and Mysterious Works and we are delighted to present that suuuuuuper deeeeep track „All be free“!
