PREMIERE: Tilman - Hands Up (Scissor Mix)

February 10th 2023 is the release date of the new EP by Tamati and Paul Bart, called ‘Boogie Me’. The promising duo who are definitely starting their adventure with the right attitude, enters the Apparel Family with a brilliant debut record, which represents the thirty-third release of the now consolidated APDEXTRA. The three tracks featured in ‘Boogie Me’ are three portraits of the artist’s musical talent and bring with them a fresh energy that only a new musical project can have. The first, and title track, is a rhythmic explosion with hints of Acid while the second and third are personal versions of the two artists of the track ‘Still Life’, which the pair personally decline in their own way. The structure of the EP is designed to give the listener all the tools to understand the musical characteristics of the two producer but, even without knowing the title of the tracks or having information on the tracklist, the record is highly enjoyable. The result is a danceable, fresh and carefree EP, perfect for starting the new year on the front foot.

James Curd presents the fourth instalment from his already essential PRONTO label, delivering a hyper-infectious original alongside a bumper pack of top-drawer remixes on ‘I Am One, I Am Many’. 

Adelaide-based Curd has come a long way since launching his career in his native Chicago as a fresh-faced teen. Now among dance music’s most revered and reliable production minds, his genre-gliding work on the likes of Exploited, Dirtybird, Tsuba, Trax Records, Classic Records and Ministry Of Sound has helped established his glowing reputation among the scene’s heaviest hitters. Once again, his latest PRONTO release sees him usher in an inspired cast of remixers, with each offering gorgeously nuanced takes on his already compelling cut. 

Completing a staggering remix ensemble, Dutch duo T.U.R.F. ride in with their typically house-rooted ‘Re-Jack’. The pair’s floor-focused club jams have won plenty of admirers since they burst onto the scene in 2018. Releases on True Romance, Robsoul, Tilly Jam and Slothboogie have certified their reputation artists with a distinct dancefloor simpatico, and their work here only cements that position. Full-bodied and aimed squarely at the club, their dubbed-out mix strips the parts to their barest essentials, altering and reframing them over a bumping arrangement.
