Hello guys, and thank you for checking this shit out!

So there's a lot going on with this piece, and it'll be hard to just dive right in. Previously, I was building my drum tracks in FL-Studio. I've finally kicked that garbage to the curb once and for all and programmed proper automation tracks in Ableton off of Kontakt 5's "Abbey Road" drum kit. I'm thouroughly pleased with how the drums came out. I feel like I was able to capture a lot of energy in the toms and snare and had much much more flexibility.

I split my drums into 5 channels; Kick, Snare, Toms, HiHat, Cymbals; Each channel running it's own instance of Kontakt Player. I do this in order to properly EQ and process the drums and keep the mixing process as similar to a live or mic'd recording environment. 

The instrumentation is fairly simple; Percussion (Kit & Marimba), 2 Guitar tracks, and keys. Guitar was recorded over DI, no cab used in this piece.

As far as processing, I'm using Image-Line's Parametric EQ 2, Multiband Compressor, and stereo enhancer. I may dislike FL, but I do like their effects rack. For chorus I'm using Multiply by Acon Digital. Delay is actually an Ableton stock plugin which gives me a lot of flexibility with LR offsets. I didn't use any reverb other than that on the amp/inst patches themselves. Mixed top-down.

I think that's about it. I hope you all enjoyed the piece. I do have another piece in the works, "Here We Go Again...", though I'm having to juggle some professional work alongside of it so I do apologize about the delays. Also look forward to a vocal version of this piece; this is only the instrumental!
