JDuff and PapaG met at a Las Vegas Baccalaureate party . They had a lot in common and became close friends. They decided to meet up in CA on Labor Day Weekend 2010. They wanted a song to remember the occasion by. Here's a snippet from it.

Some people talk about it, some people are about it. I used to be of the former persuasion, but I am now thankfully of the latter.

I started making music on keyboards and recording rap music back in 1990. I had played piano by ear since I was a kid and felt I could bring real music to the repetitive rap vibe. I had this sort of organic jazz blend I was doing long before Guru Jazzmatazz or anything like that hit the scene. It didn't go over to well at the time. I was an enigma to say the least. This was before Vanilla Ice hit the scene.

 I rapped under the name EVidENce (before Dilated Peoples and "Evidence" came on the scene) and then "Dramatick."  I used to send my demo tapes to Jive and Def Jam. I got a lot of cordial rejection letters. It started grating on my nerves despite my friends' encouragement (notably Shawn, Scott, Buda, Del, and Robert--thank you my broz). I also sold my tapes in Tower Records. Sold a lot of them in fact. I have no idea who was buying them, but thank you. I also distributed my songs on the web in mp3 format long before anyone even knew what mp3s were for.

 In about 1997 , after a good seven years of sending in demo tapes, performing, selling my tapes in stores, distributing my songs on the web, and listening to criticism from narrow-minded critics who loathed rap , I caved in and one day just stopped writing. With the exception of a few sporadic songs for people (and a commercial for a European chewing gum company (thanks OJ Eides), 13 years would pass before I would write and record again. It's actually very sad in retrospect because I had so much politically charged, conscientious rap music (and I do mean music ) to give the world.  Matter of fact I had written over 100 songs and almost 1,000 beats. 

FF to 2010. After a long stint in the web design business, one day I found a web site called Fiverr.com where you could provide services for $5. On a whim I offered to write people gag rap songs. I immediately got a "gig" for someone's bachelor party. They went crazy over it. Before I knew it I had all these very satisfied customers and 40 orders to do (!!). 

I took this as a sign from God.. to use my gift of rhyme and musicianship to make positive, inspirational, and uplifting rap music for people. Hence I started www.rapforme.com. It is growing by the day.  I have done songs for major sites like Fiverr.com and BuySellAds.com I was recently invited to rap on a song for a mix tape. I just did an interview with Dr Michael Eric Dyson on his NPR radio show. 

I have the skills, energy, passion, experience and game to reach a lot of people with a positive message. I also have a range of talents as singer, songwriter, composer, author, pianist, rapper, lyricist, mixing engineer, mastering engineer, marketing guy, business guru, blah blah blah.  I think rap music could use an injection of my positive energy and unique perspective. I am open to producing, mastering, writing lyrics, making music, consulting, teaching, performing and doing shows, whatever. Right now I'm just waiting on the Lord's call....
