Masquerade - Beginnings

Wrote this song many many years ago and processed it now in FL. I think we all know the feeling of a very shitty day. Murphy's law passing by. And the pressure to just keep smiling and pretend that everything is 'fine'. To function in 'human sociaty' and the pressure we give ourselves, each other, or what we think others expects from us.
So I wanted the song to be on the outside a 'very happy, poppy' song, while at the same time... being very dark. It's your pink frosted birthday cake with the inside of solid black. (It's also a bit inspired by how Lily Allen writes songs. Man... I love her).

Any case. I hope you guys enjoy. It's also the first time I post something with vocals! Exciting and scary!

Edit 30-4-22: New Vocal plugins (jeeh) so vocal is a bit better (and less cringe for me listening to it). Also got rid of some crap and added stuff that was more to my liking. Maybe I do a new recording when I have a new mic (this one isn't the best).

Villain instrumental

Finally it's finished. I've wrote this song one year back during a schoolproject. Part of the assignment was 'I need to confront myself that I should be proud sometimes'. As a very sober dutchy with a non traditional upbringing I used to talk myself down a lot of the times. Still to this day I find it difficult to say 'I have a feel for music'. Even with me following college in music. It is also written as a 'pick me up' song. Something nice when life is difficult. Hope you guys like it. Stay good, and be proud of yourself :-).

Greetings everyone!

A very 'happy' song coming up. No it ain't. Underline and reason for writing this song is that when someone commits suicide people may react 'shocked' and followed up with the 'But she smiled so happy!' As if people with depression can't have 'happy moments' and still feel shit. And after hearing such news be in either complete shock (granted) or be in complete denial. Isn't a bad thing. It's natural. It falls in the steps of Kubler Ross but then again, as someone 'very familiar' with situatie it might be annoying. Because fact is people still can be happy, and still want to commit suicide for various reasons. One thing doesn't exclude the other.
Despite the heavy topic, I hope you guys like the song. But if you are getting triggered or struggle with mental health please call a support line that can help you, or find comfort in your surroundings.

About all the technic stuff I stepped out of my comfort zone. Not just because of the subject but also it's form and use of percussive vocal technique (don't know If I can call it rap xD since I'm not a rapper and very unsure about it yet. So please tell me what you think. Should I try it more often?) and finally some rock/punk <3.

Oke trying something else.
I want to prepare myself to maybe perform live as a DJ and want to give twist and room for the songs that I want to play. So I tried it here with Industry Baby by Lil Nas X (love that song). Please tell me what you think about it, I'm very open to some pointers especially since remixing/remaking stuff is quite new to me.

Industry Baby Remix by Masquerade

Hi everyone. Trying out another remix since last one did quite well. For next year all my tracks get some 'rework' done. My brother gave me a new laptop (I love him so much!) since my old one.... well... looked more like the monster from frankenstein. And now I can make song with more then 20 tracks and the CPU stays 10% instead of 97% :-D

Anyhow. Let me know what you think, some tips and tricks are appreciated and I wish you all a very merry christmas and a happy new year.

Bad Habits Remix

It has been sometime since I uploaded something. Been busy with work, school, and some instrumental tracks (with one being a Abba medley.. like why xD but I like to challenge myself + working on a variation of genres). Also fun news I bought a voilin. So let's see how long it will take for me to put that in a track. Also there is a new logo coming soon.

Maybe I'll add some vocals in the future but I'm not sure. Track sounds quite complete for me. If you guys have fun idea's or like me to put some vocals in just let me know.

Masquerade - Evolution

My goodness finally. Ever since I made the base track from desires I wanted to make some lyrics for it. And after remaking everything, changing the tuning I think I got it.

Only thing that I struggle with now (maybe it's because I still use basic home equipment) is getting the vocal tracks right in volume. That was a pain in the butt. So If you guys have any tips on getting that better, I'm all ears. Maybe it will get a resung version in the future. I guess that's kinda my thing for now. Starting a project, and reshaping it once I get better/new stuff.

Anyway, enjoy the track. And have fun this summer!

[Edit 21/05/23] Replaced the file. I tuned it 1 tone down, fixed the vocals and finally I am happy!! Now the summer can begin :D

[Another edit. Highly perfectionist me wasn't happy with the vocals. + new vocal processor. Hopefully this is the last replace for now :-) ]

Jeeeeh back with the vocals. Was away bc of work and life and now slowly getting back in uploading more and more. And there is still a lot more coming, so I hope at least every month for now a new upload.

And finally vocals for Villain. Maybe one of my more 'pissed off' song. When you get pushed to a point that 'no matter what the cost you want to get out of a situation' and accepting that people will gaslight you for that reason. And at one point maybe to save yourself, cut ties, break things off, and letting your boundaries known. And if that makes you 'a bad guy' in their eyes, well hurray for it.
