Strange streaks were fraying beside my dream : it was a mob of iridescent bubbles. I could catch one, and I saw that they were full of horizons, they were bubbles, with horizons within : the one I had between my index finger and the middle one grew, stretched and swelled. I saw worlds in it, worlds where I spent hours and years and then - it burst and unraveled a thousand crystals where singular facts were shimmering to infinity, until they burst into a million swarming eyes I could see in, those of flies full of affects and designs - which burst into a billion swarms of greedy bugs who all had different thoughts, in their insatiable hunger ! I looked at other bubbles : they were all swelling and then bursting, but in different ways : here, instead of crystals one had cut, closed and obviously cruel fists ; there, combs ; there, any face existing ; and furnaces, udders of cows, leaves of trees, lunar mountains and blue tongues of some rotted horse..."

Imbrium

When atoms move straight down through the void by their own weight, they deflect a bit in space at a quite uncertain time and in uncertain places, just enough that you could say that their motion has changed. But if they were not in the habit of swerving, they would all fall straight down through the depths of the void, like drops of rain, and no collision would occur, nor would any blow be produced among the atoms. In that case, nature would never have produced anything.
