A recent transplant from Boston, MA to the mountains of Colorado, Patrick Boyle aka @DigitalVagabond is a DJ/Producer, photographer, event-planner and Jewelry Fabricator; a connected individual and man of action who wears many hats within an exponentially growing electronic music and visionary art culture. His moniker is derived from his technological nomadic inclinations, embracing digital technology and cyberspace as symbiotic interfaces full of possibility-- the potential for an unlimited network inseparable from nature.

His individually catered DJ sets have directly supported word class producers: The Widdler, Biome, Kalya Scintilla, Bird Of Prey, Whitebear, Opiuo, PhuturePrimative, Kaminanda, Mr.Bill, Killowatts, Skytree, BlueBoyProductions, lespecial and many more.

Quixotic has collaborated with Drrtywulvz on his original track Distant Pyramids, and also remixed it for their live performances. Today they are giving away the remix ahead of their upcoming new Quixotic EP being released in September, featuring more original music along with remixes of Distant Pyramids by Michal Menert, Nominus, Space Jesus, and David Starfire. The new as yet unnamed EP will be engineered by none other than Ron Lorman, known for his work with Frank Zappa and Miles Davis in the 70’s and 80’s. This remix blends vibrant strings with driving drums and psychedelic sound bites giving this track an other-worldly feel.

Inspired by the beauty and structure of humpback whale songs, this album was made through collaboration between a scientist and artists. 

Humpback whale song is the most complex vocal display in the animal kingdom and one of the most striking examples of animal culture. 
It has a hierarchical structure: 
The smallest element of a song is called a unit. Units are organized in a specific sequence to make a phrase. Phrases are repeated to make a theme. Several themes arranged in a specific pattern make up a song. 
Only male humpbacks sing, and the songs constantly evolve, but all males in the same population sing the same version of the song at any given time. 

How do they learn their songs and how and why these songs evolve? 
I hope that my research will shed light on this mystery and help with the conservation of these magnificent creatures! 

I invite you to dive into the world of sound through this album, in which each artist’s track represents one theme of a humpback whale song. 
Artists donated their time, talent and knowledge into making this compilation so people can hear these amazing sounds and learn about these incredible animals.
