Dubdadda, throughout the reggae world more commonly known as Jono, is the founding member of the renowned Community Charge and main vocalist of the British Zion Train ensemble. His previously released ‘Lo-Fi Pon De Hi-Fi’ out on Moonshine Recordings is one of
the albums that continues to have a big impact on us. 

After presenting this great piece of dub history on our imprint, we’re proud to announce that we’re housing two ground shaking remixes from our hefty imprint familiars Radikal Guru and Zion Train. These reworks show off Dubdadda‘s original sound with additional forwardthinking, dubwise flavours. 

Radikal Guru’ strikes the right chord with his version of ‘Got To Be A Warrior’ through dub-esque melodica, a soulful ballad dedicated to Jah and deeply rooted sub pulses. The endowing parts of Dubdadda’s original cut are unbroken and maintained, allowing the Polish producer to extra shine light on this historical piece of dub music. The peaceful message being looped without intermissions will remind listeners of the producers’ commitment to untouchable sound system music. 

Zion Train’s interpretation on the B-side follows a similar drum pattern that ends in a completely refreshing avenue of dub.
The British ensemble nails their version
by carrying out easing reggae chords, gentle delay FX and an excursion through bassline meditation. The lovegiving chant forms the centerpiece of this relaxing stepper, which pays homage to Dubdadda’s original tale. Re-joining Zion Train’s vocal section makes the band’s
version a positive force to be reckoned with that breaths ‘soul for sound’. 

‘MS019' follows up on the Junior Dread remixes from Gorgon Sound and DJ Madd. This follow-up is packed with welcoming vibrations that feed you with dub history. This next 10” release will be testing the bass scoops of throughout the globe – awaiting dub sessions and culture-building efforts. Make sure to take part in this glorious next outing on

Warrior Charge

MDC, c’est avant tout la rencontre de 5 passionnés de musique : Bruno (basse), Antoine (mixage), Thomas (guitare), Julien (trombone), et Louis (trompette).

Massive Dub s’attache à décloisonner le Dub par l’apport et l’hybridation de ses influences groove et musiques improvisées. En recherche constante de nouvelles sonorités, leur approche du mixage dub leur offre un panel presque infini de possibilités sonores. C’est ce principe que le groupe cherche à apposer sur ses compositions, mêlant les musiques métissées issues de nombreux brassages comme le jazz, les musiques électroniques, le reggae ou la soul.

Avec un album et 2 Ep sur le label ODG Prod, ainsi que 4 vinyles sortis sur les labels Lion’s Den, Berry’s Records, Welders Records, et Dreadwise Music, ils ont su apporter une touche de fraîcheur à la vision générale du Dub aujourd’hui en France, grâce notamment à leurs séries de prestations live.

En Octobre 2017, le groupe sort son 1er album concept entre le Dub et le Jazz L’horizon des événements chez Warooba, en co-prod avec ODG.

Après avoir partagé les plateaux avec de nombreux artistes reconnus de la scène Dub comme Stand High Patrol, Panda Dub, Kanka, Zion Train, Gentleman’s Dub Club ou encore Brain Damage, ils proposent actuellement 2 lives : un live Dub-stepper à 3 (machine / basse / guitare) taillé pour les sound systems, ainsi qu’un live instrumental à 5 musiciens.

Hi and welcome to my world... ! I'm DJ Dakafka; an Amsterdam DJ & Selector (producer) and have been active since 1995. Started of as an ambient DJ, playing at several underground parties, benefits, clubs and venues. My sound soon evolved to a more up-beat tempo playing all kinds of dub influenced dance styles like Zion Train. Check them here on Soundcloud! 

Played at big squats like:The Silo, Vrieshuis Amerika, ADM and Rijkshemelvaart. Starting as a chill out dj in club Trance Buddha, I ended up hosting the saturday evenings in the downstairs arena for a few years.Other clubs I ran my sessions in? Melkweg: Time Machine, Amp Studios, Paradiso & Studio 80: Errorkrew, The Bus. Even played at bigger venues like Digital Overdose, Mystery Land, Future Reggae Ruigoord and Magneet Festival. Had an interesting session last year at the Jah Bar with Zen Rockers and looking forward to spin with them in the near future!

As a DJ I've always been interested in making live radio, mixing and soundscaping too. Back in the days and born out out of my passion for radio I and a firm group of friends and dj's soon launced our own non commercial (pirate) free radiostation in 1990; called Free Style fm 101.5 and shared that frequency with Radio Patapoe wich was also a big non commercial underground pirate radiostation that still excists nowadays, but no longer via airwaves. So I've played on several big independent Radiostations here in the city, the biggest one of them was Radio 100. A non commercial & non profit, independent,  free ("pirate") Radiostation wich was broadcasting 24/7 all over Amsterdam and surroundings. Also, there was a very good live stream via the www (24/7).Radio 100 was one of the first in town broadcasting via the web with the best support from DFM rtv Int. As a dj I hosted/presented a few shows, one of them was called "Het Podium"; presented and produced by me and best friend dj Bergman. Besides our program I had my own; Serotonine, on the air for many years, alongside of this I was a regular (in time of absence or holidays) fill-in (for example) programs like Roots & Culture, a show hosted by King Shiloh. 

I am back on a webstation that is called DHC.FM
