"As soon as I got a microphone in my hand, when I was in Adisco, I realised I wanted to do this," he says. "I discovered a new life on the stage, where I could affect anybody with my lyrics. Where I actually had influence."

A fan of such diverse artists as Christopher Wallace, Slick Rick, Jay Z, Amakye Dede, and Okomfuor Kwadei, Masta Grizzy's urban afro hip-hop songs are set to resonate with all who hear them. 

He is Derrick Oti Acheampong, born 4th May, 1993. He hails from Akim Anyinem in the Eastern Region; and as a result has a deep respect for family and relationships. UnderGround was the identity of his birth into the world of performing arts. After blowing the minds of Santas in the years of 2008 and 2009, he was tortured as a Master of rap; and as such was refered to as the Master Ground. Going with recent tradition, his metarmorphosis reached it's climax with the monicker MastaGrizzy.

A student of the University of Ghana, he had his secondary school education from Adisadel College. He begun education in Prince of Peace, and Graceland school. A fine academician by all standards.

"My debut mixtape shows my respect for art, and my willingness to collaborate. Rude Keys talks about my struggles, and life as a Ghanaian," he continues. "'Trotro' tells it all. A song potraying Ghanaian hustle." He and Spider 64 (another fantastic artist) made it an impetus to be real on the mixtape. This makes the Rude Keys a unique artistic project. He has numerous individual endeavours, in the form of covers of songs, and his own productions. 'Mean Flow' and 'Afriqan', his current singles are making waves ranking 7th on the official Greater Accra Hip-Hop Charts of ReverbNation which featured major acts like D-Black, E. L., Edem, and all the other big boys, in less than two weeks after signing up.

Being a founding father of ace entertainment group, Rhyme Salute, in Adisadel College, he afforded talented individuals in school the platform to express and improve their arts. The Rhyme Salute had in it's flanks dancers, musicians, actors, and rappers. Being an art-lover, and actively in the game, he was the right fit to motivate, and inspire talented individuals to pour their hearts out through their arts and strive to achieve perfection. Performance, after performance, it became clear he, Masta Grizzy, was in love with the microphone, and the stage - his home.

"I don’t know what I'll do without music!" He smiles, "I guess it's not an option!"
