The Long Journey

A song about an incident that occurred several years ago that landed me in the county jail. Written for a Noteflight competition in 2017, this is a Sibelius/NotePerformer redux of the original song.

A choral arrangement I did of my Haiku Overture. I was dissatisfied with the performance limitations of the original, so I decided to produce this track in order to get around that as best as I can.

The long-awaited scherzo to my second symphony! I have no idea why this particular movement took so long, but here it is - enjoy!

Symphony No. 2 in F Minor - 3. Scherzo

The first movement of my second symphony. While working on another symphonic project, I decided to write this in-between symphonies because the former project was becoming a little overwhelming for me (it's my most ambitious work yet). Originally, this was indeed supposed to be the first movement, but I turned it into the final movement... and then back again, plus some MAJOR edits and overhauls.

F minor is a key that I normally don't explore much, but after listening to Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony a few times, I have grown very fond of it. The tone is a little different than the "Anti-Hero" symphony, and I stripped down the percussion to just timpani (for the first and second movements, at least). Instead of a sonata form with "Introduction -> ||: Exposition :|| -> Development -> Recapitulation," like the first symphony, I went with "Exposition -> Expo Prime -> (Pre?)Coda -> Development -> II Development -> II Development Prime -> Recap -> Coda," which was a little odd at first (and confusing when written out in words) but I think it works.
