Thanks for tuning in. This is a separate mix series I’ve started that explores the varieties of electronic music that resonate with me. Whether it's Ambient, Downtempo, Break Beat, House, Deep House, Techno, or Drum & Bass.

I'll defintely be showcasing some of the great tunes we pick up on Cromarti Records here within my House based mixes. To Kick off RESONATE I've put together a compilation inspired by my recent trip to Cabo to surf, visit a good friend, and celebrate his Wife's birthday. We drove for hours on dirt roads to a remote location on the tip of Baja, and stayed at an amazing little spot tucked away out there. The beaches are still absolutely pristine, with little to no development. We were lucky to find a sound guy that had just what we needed! So, I planned a set and played for the crew we had out there to celebrate from sunset to nightfall. From the vibrant Orange sunsets of Baja to the stars that looked like diamonds in the sky without any light pollution, the vibe was fantastic. The mix I have here for you features some of the music I played that evening.

RESONATE 001 - Deep House | Organic House

For this mix I went into the archives for some stuff I played a lot in the 2010s, along with a few new tunes. I was in Austin TX then, and held a great residency with some friends at a rooftop club called LANAI. It's now since been closed due to real estate decisions, which happens a lot to venues with history. LANAI was one of those places for Austin, TX. We held our weekly Cromarti Records Showcase there. It was a great stretch of good times and fun with some awesome people I connected with in the world during that period. In the end, this music is all about getting away from the grind and connecting with one another. So this mix is dedicated to that time well spent.

For the first of the tone poem series, I've put together a 2.5 set that kicks off with some Ambient / Electronica that moves into 2 hours of Deep House tunes. tone poem 001 - Ambient | Electronica | Downtempo | Deep House

With some perfect Fall weather here in parts of the Northern Hemisphere, and Spring around the corner for those of you in the Southern part of this Blue rock, I've put together my next compilation for the RESONATE mix series that focuses solely on 3 hours of some Deep House grooves to kick back and zone out to. 
When it comes to compiling these for RESONATE, it's not necessarily about putting something together that's always highly energetic or meant for peak time at the venues. My goal for this series is more to create listening experiences across genres that I hopefully keep you coming back for the next one or saving them to favorites to listen again later. To put on and zone out, or have as that go to when you need something for a get together, etc etc. I'll be compiling those peak time sets as well of course😛
My track selection for these is equally as important to me as the transitions between each and every one, and how that translates over the course of the set as smoothly as possible. They're certainly not perfect, but I definitely spend a LOT of time with these digging for each and every track to include in order to hopefully ensure that as much as I possibly can. When I heard my first mix by Sasha back in 97 or 98, I was hooked by the idea of creating mixed sets for this very reason. That you could create such a seamless listening experience for someone to be taken on what felt like a never-ending, yet always changing, audible experience of music. 
In a recent interview with Laurent Garnier, someone I definitely look up to, he mentioned how he's noticed the younger generations today seem to consume music more now these days, rather than actually listen. Particularly just within France that he's observed, and even with his own Son. That they seem to only want or look for the hook or the drop of a song, and then move on to the next without fully listening to a song from beginning to end. In this new world of content, content, content, is this the world we live in now for music in general or maybe just Electronic / House Music? Do people today really only want to hear the good parts of their favorite tracks or most popular tracks, and that's what matters the most? Or are people still interested in experiencing the longer seamless sets meant to take you on a shifting audible journey through music and moods. Anyhow, from beginning to end, I hope anyone enjoys this latest mix for RESONATE. If you happen to like what you hear, feel free to follow me on SoundCloud where I'll be posting more in this series.
I've included some great music from the likes of: Atjazz, Charles Webster, Yoruba Soul/Osunlade, Jimpster, Fred Everything, Shur-I-Kan, Ripperton, dop, Luvless, Demarkus Lewis, Matt Masters, Leon Revol, Holo, Fort Romeau, and more. I end things off with the classic 2020 Vision mix of "Lovlee Dae" by Blaze into my final track, which was a record that basically lived in my bag since it's release in 2002 - The Lemon8 Deed Dub of Contagious by Kid Vicious. Harry Lemon / Lemon8 was surely a favorite producer of mine through those years when I was much more keen on Progressive House. He had that ability to create those longer, extended tracks that would just build and build over the course of the song, keeping you hooked in the entire time. Although most of his tracks leaned more towards Progressive, I always found this particular one of his to be more deep, dark and groove driven than most traditional Progressive House tracks at that time. It's still a monster of a tune in my personal opinion, and is still a favorite of mine to still play today.
