Are you ready to Be Happy? A veritable shapeshifter of a tune, boss man Steves latest morphs and melds, mixes and mutates, making merry mischief made for maximum musical momentum. Be Happy can be read in many different ways – suggestion, request, even instruction. In this instance, let us not over-analyse – what were dealing with is a multi-faceted humdinger of a house tune whose very raison detre is to induce a state of happiness. Steve deftly manipulates layer upon layer of elements into a euphoric and cohesive whole. Riffs tease then erupt, bass burbles and bounces, percussion cracks then takes a pause, ushering in a breakdown for the ages. Be Happy is by turns simple yet complex, busy then stripped back, heads down chugger meets hands in the air anthem. Stereo Underground is a driving force on the underground music scene. Although he began his career as a drummer in rock bands, he later transitioned into the electronic music scene. He is the founder of the BPM College of Sound & Production and co-founder of MUZA, a new collaborative music platform that empowers producers to connect, create, and grow together. He has released on labels such as Balance Music, Lost & Found, and many more, while often climbing high in Beatport's melodic house and techno charts.

Opener 'Your Time Will Come' is an evocative track packed with cinematic sound design that makes for an immersive mind movie as well as club-ready groove. With rising synth progressions, celestial FX and deep-rooted beats, it's a hypnotic, ever-evolving sound high on subtle drama and moving emotion. The gorgeous AM Version strips things back to a blissful and gentle broken beat that's awash with heavenly melodies and harmonic pads, which drown you in uplifting euphoria. The fantastic 'Echoes Of The Wild' is another moving electronic journey with pristine and crystalline synth progressions, lush textures and serene grooves that lead to dance floor transcendence.

Freezing winters, packed after-hours, and a scene that thrives just outside the spotlight is Montreal’s rhythm. This VA draws from that energy.

Guy Laliberté invited a handful of local artists reworking Cirque du Soleil in their own language: raw, stripped-back, and built for the dance floor.

Each remix brings something different to the table, but they’re united by a shared sense of restraint. The grooves are tight, and the low-end does most of the talking. You’ll recognize the DNA of the originals, but the context is new.

Hicky & Kalo’s take on Temperatio stands out for its deep emotional pull — hypnotic yet understated, it channels the track’s theatrical origins into something more intimate and meditative, perfectly tuned for the early hours.

This VA is about grounding Cirque du Soleil in the pulse of the city. In studios, on dark floors, through sound systems that favor pressure over perfection. It’s a subtle, thoughtful collection that reflects where Montreal is at right now.

As part of Frooogs Records’ ongoing remix series, the Montreal VA takes Cirque’s legacy and gives it a new frame — one that feels lived-in, local, and ready for after hours.
