Los Suruba proudly present the fifth release signed by their record label NAZCA called ‘El Abuelo’ by Rodrigo Gallardo, accompanied by the pleasant voice of Fernando Milagros. 
Los Suruba are involved in many musical projects like signing a remix with the DJ and designer Marcelo Burlon, one of the big names in the new generation fashion industry and owner of the brand County of Milan amongst others. 
Los Suruba themselves, after signing tracks that will be out soon with Sol Selectas and Tale & Tone back this EP with a remix followed by Dandara who has released with Underyourskin, Lump and Slowsociety. 

NAZCA Records is born out of the uplifting relationship established between the Viracochas, beings from a different world and the Nazcas, peaceful people that were known for their love for music, dance and nature. 
The connection between the advanced world of the Viracochas and the archaic one of the Nazcas it’s what inspires every release on this record label and this one was not going to be different.
First, we have Rodrigo Gallardo, a Chilean musician that continually explores the folklore of South America and introduces it in the electronic music. Second, but not least, there is the element of the voice of Fernando Milagros, a significant musician and composer from the independent music scene, also from Chile. 
These two artists alongside with the ones in charge of their remixes are here to deliver a tribute to the Viracochas and the Nazcas by creating this entire EP that glides effortlessly between moments of absolute reflection, with powerful lyrics and club-ready rhythms. The sound element of the quena flute adds valuable dynamics to the musical arrangements making this record a balance between modern beats and folkloric elements.

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill. Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’. The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’. Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments. No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’. The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207. His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse. 

A new collaborative work ‘Data Point’ joins the pack, only completed by the trio of Beyer, Giordani and Green Velvet in late May in time for the Drumcode boss to drop it at IMS Dalt Villa during the sunset slot with Ida Engberg.

Wonderwheel Recordings is proud to present Karimba Diabolic Remixed, a brand new remix album from the Peruvian future roots collective Novalima.  Founded by four friends from Lima with a shared passion for both traditional Afro-Peruvian music and modern DJ culture, Novalima searches for the common ground between past and future, between tradition and innovation. Being one of their home countries hottest exports, (where they have gone platinum) their efforts have a helped bridge the divide between the Peruvian mainstream and the Afro-Peruvian community, a minority population that has struggled against discrimination and the threat of cultural dissolution for generations. Outside of Peru, Novalima has garnered critical acclaim from mainstream and underground media alike, a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album, and a featured spot in cult filmmaker Robert Rodriguez’s hit Mexploitation movie Machete. 

Here on Karimba Diabolic Remixed, Novalima has hand selected some of their favorite remixers to re-interpret last year’s Karimba album to their own vision. The choice of remixers also reflects Novalima’s global appeal in the Latin diaspora worldwide. The UK is represented with well known West London producer Seiji’s heavy synth-based four-to-the-floor reworking of “Mamaye”, and UK / Brazilian supergroup Da Lata giving us a rootsy swinging version of “Malivio Son”.  As it’s recently become a hotbed of Latin infused dance music and culture, California is heavily represented with remixes from KCRW / AfroFunke DJ and Los Angeles mainstay Jeremy Sole fleshes out “Macaco” into a smooth call and response affair. SF based Acid Jazz legend DJ Smash delivers a squelchy, bouncy version of “Diablo”, while Bay Area veteran band Afrolicious freaks “Zarambe” into a dancefloor joint equally influenced by house music and Fela Kuti. LA/NYC DJ Sabo reinterprets “Diablo” with his signature deep and dirty Moombahton style, while Thievery Corporation’s Rob Garza takes “Festejo” into swirling, psychedelic house vibe. NYC DJ producer and Wonderwheel label head Nickodemus takes “Mamaye” into bass and percussion heavy dancefloor territory, while Novalima affiliated DJ collective Coba Soundsystem deliver varied takes on “Festejo” and “Malivio Son”. Also included are remixes from Barcelona’s AndyLoop and Los Chicos Altos and deep house producer Xacosa. As an added bonus, the album contains one brand new, unreleased Novalima tracks – “Payande”.
