Mainz rooted duo Matchy and Bott serve up three dancefloor heaters for their “Battle Boii” EP.
A traveling bassline opens up the eponymous track, while dramatic synth leads slowly unfold into a dreamy, laid back melody. The ascending groove is slow paced yet intricate, constructing a perfect setting for subtle transitions. On the other side of the melodic spectrum, Ocean surprises with a juxtaposition of gloom and wandering indie vocals. Playful harmonic keys alternate dark synths, forming a looming, ever-approaching backdrop that’s a perfect tension builder. Enrolled for the remix, Lars Moston injects more bass into Ocean’s already high-strung framework. Distorting the original vocals and pairing them with equally contorted synths, the track comes as a powerful floor mover that’s equally dancy as the original.

Yeesss.. took a while but I finally got the recording from Bucht der Träumer. I'm still overwhelmed from this beautiful festival 😍 It will be hard to capture the magic and beauty of the moment but playing from 4.30am to 6.30am, from complete darkness until an indescribable sunset and wonderful morning, has been an unbelievable! Thanks everyone, who danced with me into the sunset :) Seeing such joy and smiling faces as bright as the sun in that moment... an unforgettable experience and highlight, even after quite a few festivals this year!
Sorry for the bad quality of the recording. Likewise I was quite struggling with my ears after playing a lot this weekend.. anyways this was pure magic! Thanks <3
