Baba Stiltz hails from a tradition of funky outcasts centred around the calm yet unpredictable city of Stockholm, Sweden. Since his infant days he's been guided through the nitty-gritty basics of what it is to be a true music lover by some of the city's most prolific artists, producers and djs. 

Despite his youth, 20-year-old Baba boasts an impressive discography, with two albums of dreamy folk-pop (as The Betlehem Beard Corporation) and a string of hit singles within the elusive Skweee scene already under his belt. 

His more recent studio adventures have led to three 12'' releases on Stockholm dance label Studio Barnhus as well as recurring production work for post-rap phenomenon Yung Lean. 

Total is Baba's debut album under his own name and his finest work to date. From the opening machine-funk arpeggio of Missing to the sanguine melancholia of closing hiphop beat Discovery – New Dawn, Baba's masterpiece rides through psychedelic screw-pop, minimalistic emo-acid and opiate-drenched coming-of-age-ambient. As lucid and strong as it is obscure and beautiful, this is an album us folks at Studio Barnhus are immensely proud of presenting to the world.

The two minds of the label HARD FIST, Tushen Raï & Cornelius Doctor joined their forces to release the striking « Lights of Khonvoum », trippy and definitely made for the dancefloor. Pletnev delivers a mental remix with the second track : introducing step by step new percussive and melodic elements in order to keep the suspense and the crowd breathless. With N’dehou (small Pygmy flute) and women choir, Centrafreak transports you straight to Central Africa’s rainforest!

After the summer break we are proud to reveal the next record on Siamese. Shiffer, who surfaced on the first Siamese Anthology in 2017, is returning with a full EP, „Soul Masks“. Right after we received the first demos of this talented, in Basel, Switzerland born musician, we knew we have a story to tell. Far away from trends and expectations, Shiffer is creating unique dance music with a certain depth and warmth. Ever evolving this is the right moment to release this beautiful record, also featuring a great remix from The Drifter that was successfully tested on various grounds on the road. We know Mark for quite some time now and we remember talking to him about a possible appearance on the label right after we started. We are very happy to finally have him on board as we are supporters of his music and persona since a while. 

On the A-Side we have both the original and remix of „Ourself Behind Ourselves“. While Shiffer’s original relies on its groove and trippy sounds topped with a beautiful flute like melody, The Drifter takes things up a notch goes for a straighter more clubby approach. On the flip „Soul Masks“, the title track of the EP, is one of Shiffer’s more energetic peak time club tracks, while not losing his dedication to details and groove. Followed by „Waiting Hidden Spheres“, which was among the first demos we received from Shiffer. Right then we knew we want to work with him on a release and we already had a few wonderful closing moments with it.

At the end of the garden was a wishing well, it had not been used for a long time but it sat there watching out upon the long grass whilst full with water. Ripples could be seen in the small pond as the rain fell from the dark grey clouds which hung dense and thick overhead. It was a cold autumn day and in the distance the birds could be heard chirping in the trees. The garden belonged to an old house, a building which had been crafted long ago from brick and iron, much history lay between its walls but now it was bare and barren.

Screen Shadow is set to release a two part EP which showcases a breadth of influence and taste. It's atmospheric and moody, with the EP's split into two perspectives, club focussed and experimental.

Tobias., Neel and Sebastian Muellaert as Wa Wu We collaborate with the Konstrukt label for their 12th release. Each producer with a unique and refreshing approach towards electronic music.

Tobias. is up first with a beautiful track that balances on the border of rationality and emotion. His abstract sonic narrative discloses through tightly organized rhythms and noisy percussion. Neel follows up with a cinematic composition that submerges us into otherworldly oddities that guides us slowly through his composition. WaWuWe’s formally known as Sebastian Mullaert relieves the tension. The Swedish composer made a 13-minute long stirring and relaxing B-side track, blessing us with soothing energy for the mind, body and soul.

Recorded mostly as a live-jam, august 2019, « Il Sogno di Carmen » is the result of a solitary producer meeting a nomad musician. A brand new friendship. From there, the duo leads us to a spontaneous and fragile holiday story that yet manages to frame, with a sometimes mischievous accuracy, the current Genevan musical spirit : experimental, sincere, hybrid and hot.
