Our fragment series continues. This month's story is told by Damyan.

Damyan is a soundscape explorer and storyteller from Sofia, Bulgaria. With a background in architecture, he is also a  resident DJ of the Transference parties - the brand name of a series of conceptual events in Sofia, dedicated to exploring modern hypnotic soundscapes.

‘ Being born in Bulgaria is hugely influencing my art, always drawing inspiration from the beautiful and diverse nature surrounding me. In the process of creating my stories, I always imagine different scenarios, landscapes, visions, and emotions, the same way I'm defining space in an architectural project I represent these imaginative journeys in sound. ‘

Tattagatha tiptoes over dewy forms, the heavenly grass is yet unformed, the moss, the pearls of breath with moistness hovers, like phantom irridules that fall to meet the heat of proto-words where worlds are gnarled beneath the earthen arms like roots that force and stretch their souls through soil and sounds unheard. The archetypal fires sing their crystal flames encased within, a primal cave, a crack, a fissure, a radiant, mingled, morphic hue, a pounding heat, a torus field, a honey dripping river, a forest of blue, a wound to let the light seep through, a garland of mandalic views begins to cling to residues that pool in places where Yeshe Dawa sleeps in whirls and fills the space where all was naught but vast expanse, her chaos now a seething mass of seed syllables flowering into serpent glass.
Prana, Agni. Deva. 
Goddess. Breath of Fire
She starts with Ham Ksham the seeds of her own power, the sounds that rouse the forms that rise like trees to fix the earth and sky in tender grip of repetition will devour, in consciousness, sanguine, in moonlit body and inside dreams, the lunar bath the temple pillar rises from the mud, ruptures on the plane of time with undulating Gaia swelling, the Shleshmantaka forest awakens in the centre of her dwelling.

The moon glows where all suns drip and self-fulfilling prophets see. The Spirit. The seven svaras swaying.

when it is whirling in stillness?

Heavenly mass, Meghalaya, abode of clouds.
Not in this world, not in the next I am.
Where you are, both worlds disappear.
My Soul, it said “you are the light of my eyes”.
“Where I am”, the forest said, “no need for eyes.”
I said: Since you are more than tongue can tell,
behold how eloquent I am without a tongue.

Dasha Rush is a Russian born artist who sees the genre as a starting place not a destination. She is a respected and well-travelled DJ and live performer, but her work is equally focussed away from the dance floor, and sometimes away from music itself. Her recent album for Raster-Noton, Sleepstep, could be a metaphor for her work: "These 16 pieces are transmissions from that state between sleep and wakefulness," said Tony Naylor, a reflection of the in-between zones her music often inhabits. Dubby but intense, brutal but tender, foggy yet clear—Sleepstep was a wonderful mass of contradictions. Not being one thing or the other is vitally important to Rush, which goes hand-in-hand with her strong independent streak. The majority of the music she's released since starting out in 2005 has come through her own Fullpanda label and, as she told us in 2013, she's resistant to playing the publicity game in the way many in the scene do. That's meant she's remained off the radar for some techno fans, but it's also given her the freedom to explore projects and sounds as she pleases. With all this mind, it was little surprise that our invitation to record a podcast was met with, "Yes, but it won't be a club mix." What we got instead was an absorbing 65 minutes of dense ambient soundscapes that shows Rush at her most reflective. The mix comes ahead of the North American premiere of Antarctic Takt, Rush's A/V show with Stanislav Glazov, at this week's Mutek festival in Montreal.

A mix by Andrew Weatherall inspired by the new book 'Psychedelia and Other Colours' by Rob Chapman, published on September 3 2015 by Faber & Faber. The book features an introduction from Andrew Weatherall.

Andrew on the mix:

"Deadlines were passing and and I needed a kick up the arse, but with an army of psychic skeletons waiting to surge across synapses should they be lysergically fired, going "gonzo" was not an option when I found myself lacking Caliope's influence. I needed to get back on the bus but knew that the cost of a ticket was one I was unwilling to pay.My sanity is priceless. I needed a "madeleine moment" but tea and cake wasn't going to cut it. Casting my mind back to my first trip I remembered a good part of it was spent on a large Victorian brass bed listening to the static between stations on a transistor radio.I heard my own internal soundtrack, music made of ether and electricity. It was then it struck me. A sonic key was required. After some hours spent in the bunker's research library I compiled a collection of music that crackled and fizzed within a nebulous fog. Static charges mirroring synaptic fireworks. On mixing and playing the result was immediate. The foreword was written."

Hey guys. Here's the 27th episode of the Stellar Series, this time I have the pleasure to welcome the talented DJ, producer and my dear friend Vicky Zissou. 
From Berlin, Vicky is now based in Stockholm, where she's known to be a part of the recognized Swedish techno scene. She began to DJ three years ago, and she is regularly playing at Stockholm best clubs. She shared the stage with essential artists of the deep techno movement, like Abdulla Rashim, Fjäder, Evigt Mörker, Ed Davenport, Dorisburg and many others. Her sets are characterized by a sharp selection of the deepest and tribal aspect of techno.
Today, she gratifies us of a stunning ambient selection, sometimes punctuated by slow rythmics that create an organic pulsation to the pad processing.

This is a stroll. A walk on earth. 
Through valleys and peaks. 
Through the elements of earth.
Deep deep down to the core and
Up to brightest top of the mountain.
Touching the stars.

“Yokota’s music was always completely individual, always esoteric yet never willfully indulgent. His touch was that of a master craftsman, creating intricate musical jewels that sparkled like no others. There’s no doubt that if he had been in a position to play live concerts his reputation would far exceed many of his contemporaries. He will be sorely missed by those who value quality and originality in music”.

A clear tribute Eafhm make to him consisting of several sessions and live performances with a special dedication, full of love and a lot of hard work on. Fun, demented, freewheeling, colourful, narcotic and oddly human. A fully acknowledgment of gratitude, respect and admiration. Timeless. Thanks.
