Richard Bayer aka Richkus is a sonic curator whose musical journey has spanned nearly two decades through the depths of Deep, Dub, and Minimal Techno. With a keen sense for atmosphere and structure, he cultivates a sound that blends raw grooves with nuanced synths and expressive chords – always guided by organic flow and a focus on essentials. Whether in the studio or on stage, analog or digital – Richard employs a hybrid setup of hardware, software, vinyl, and digital tools, offering him maximum creative freedom. His DJ sets and productions are marked by precise dramaturgy and a deep understanding of sonic architecture. Minimalism, for him, is not an aesthetic constraint but a method of distilling music to its core.

The Quadrasphere 015 - Richkus

AGP explores the depths of electronic music in all its forms. From blues and jazz to house music, dub techno and minimal. Initially sensitive to soul with influences such as Sun Orchestra, Masters At Work or Glenn Underground, AGP then discovered the work of Studio 1 or Moritz Von Oswald, as well as some dark pieces by Omar S. The contrast installed leaves room for negotiation between the explicit emotion of Nuyorican Soul's instrumentations and the abysses of repetitive tools, where the soul of House and the energy of Techno mingle. Since 2014, AGP has been signed to labels such as Lossless, Moodmusic, Get Physical, Loot, Dance Artifakts, Azzur and, more recently, Goldmin and CB90. Since 2020, he has been concentrating on his more minimalist project, “Redrop”, and on Lessenorg.net.

Every week on Thursday, he appears on Line out Radio from 6 to 8 p.m., offering his vision of electronic music, his choices, his guests and his influences. This week, he felt like testing out his contribution to a VA coming out soon on Star Dub. So expect this one to be leaning towards the deep for the first hour. The Open Circle is a Belgian producer with releases on labels such as  Greyscale, MixCult, Lempuyang, OHM Series, Crystal MUD, Insectorama , Crossfade Sounds, ODrex Music, Moonglade Sound, ECOUL SND. Sometimes songs were also released on vinyl. The Style can be described as Dub Techno with a personal touch. The production is mostly done using the Modular synthesizer and some Hardware synthesizer. More songs will be released in the future on some respected labels.

In addition, podcasts are recorded from time to time. The songs are chosen very carefully with the aim of being as original as possible.

Welcome to episode number 108 of Observatory by Sungate Records

Opening this edition, Anastasiia Slustska sets the tone with a slow-burning, dub-influenced set. Spacious, textural, and deliberately paced, her selection draws from the outer edges of techno and ambient, at the soundsystem meeting point.

In the second hour, resident Fran Domingo (Hakk) picks up the thread and gradually tightens the focus. His mix builds tension through ambient sounds, charred breakbeat, chugging electro, and lisergic chants of the rave continuum.

Akim Kharbeche was a member of the now-famous Château Perché festival as stage manager and artistic director, founder of the Perchépolis label and instigator of the Totem Rituel collective, which invites artists from the underground techno scene to perform at the Sonoka festival. 
The artist has also been an undeniably talented DJ for nearly 15 years, and here he delivers a fresh, sunny summer musical tale, tinged with a thousand influences from dub, deep, tribal, half-time, dnb and breakbeat.

Rolando grew up in south west Detroit, a Hispanic district, he was heavily influenced by his cultural Latin rhythms and percussion. Inspired from an early age by his musician father, he pursued his own interest in music and became well known and respected within the community. It was later when he heard Jeff Mills in 1985 as "The Wizard" that he discovered the innovative sounds of Techno. 
Through a mutual friend he was introduced to Mike Banks and joined Underground Resistance in 1994.
In November 2004, Rolando left both Underground Resistance and his Los Hermanos project behind. 
2014 saw Rolando launch his own label R3 ( Roland Rocha Records) and has more or less exclusively released his own music on his label since. Rolando now a Dj for more than thirty–five years continues to work internationally as a Dj , producer and Remixer with an eclectic clientele such as Marcel Dettman, Kraftwerk, D’Julz, Ben Sims, Skudge, A Sagittariun. Rolando continues to hold his residency ( 2006 ) at Berlin club Berghain.

Having come up through the thrilling crossover era of the 2010s, she's folded her d&b roots and deep affinity for techno into an urgent, in-demand sound that keeps her on the road. 

Alongside a stellar sample of her craft recorded at a recent residency night at Open Ground in Wuppertal, she speaks to Oli Warwick about the peaks and troughs of promoting, her friendship with the late Marcus Intalex, and why socks are at the heart of Neighbourhood's family atmosphere.

As August begins, summer's golden days are still here, full of promise and hope. As we move into the peaceful months ahead, we're excited to welcome the talented Spanish artist Pablo Bolivar to our 320th episode in the series.

“A modern master of house and techno, Seven Villas founder Pablo Bolivar is know equally well as an album artist and prolific remixer, but perhaps foremost as a world class DJ. With artistic breadth and worldwide appeal, it is clear that Pablo was born to create music, always with an attitude, and always with quality as a standard.”
Boasting more than a decade of experience releasing music, Pablo Bolívar is a name familiar to most in the underground circuit of Dance music. Born in Santander, Spain, in 1981, he took his first steps into the music business by studying Sound Engineering at Barcelona’s Crash institute, then working as an engineer for a number of years following his graduation in 2000.
After a while, Pablo began working at one of Spain’s most recognised Electronic imprints, Decoder Muzique. Following this, in 2006 he released his debut LP via Barcelona label Regular, entitled ‘Anjanas’. The 11-track album showcased his melodic, hypnotic and intriguing style of Techno that has over the years become synonymous with his name, panning between ambient sections and tougher, more club-driven moments with a real maturity and understanding of music that only comes from studying the art at its core.
In 2009, Pablo released his critically acclaimed and personal favourite LP, ‘Recall’, also via Regular. The album saw him once again nod to past influences such as Heiko Laux and his Kanzleramt label as well as other German imprints such as Chain Reaction, but also was deeply inspired by the passing of his father.
Since then, the Spaniard has gone from strength to strength, with further releases on Curle Recordings, as well as on Desolat, Culprit, Einmusika, Moodmusic, Endless as well as via his own labels, Seven Villas and Avantroots, also remixing the likes of Gui Boratto, Mario Basanov, When Saints Go Machine, Gorge, Parov Stelar or Juana Molina to name a few.
Outside of music production, the gifted Spaniard has built up a reputation for his meticulously crafted DJ performances, combining his own mesmerising Techno cuts with records unearthed from his regular excursions crate digging as well as from other artists such as Floating Points, Soulphiction, I:Cube and Vakula – modern names that he is a big personal fan of.
