This piano piece is dedicated to all people that need to leave. Their homes, their loved ones, their lifes that they had so far. Because they see no future, because some regime presses them to go to war, because they have broken with their loved ones. All the best to you and may you find a new home!

Compositionwise: The piece is structured into 4 parts (starting @0:02, @0:45, @1:38 and @2:44). Each of the parts starts with a question-like motive built around Ninths. As with most of my pieces, I investigate applied perturbation theory also in this track by starting these 4 parts almost – but only almost – with the same notes and exploring, how initially tiny tweaks in the beginning of the parts evolve over time into distinctly different melodies, harmonics and moods.
Overall, the piece constantly oscillates between melancholic minor and consoling major harmonies and periods of relative calm interrupted by more restless forward driving parts. The transitions between the parts are made more seamless by ritardandos and by question-answer pairs such as e.g, @ 1:28 or @ 2:33. Most of the accompaignment in the left hand is in Vienna classic-like triad decompositions but for the climax of the track starting @ 2:02, the left hand switches to rock-piano-like octave jumps to increase the sense of emotional agitation. The track starts in A major and ends in Eb major which is said to be a warm and melancholic tonality. Tthe two keys are opposite each other (6 jumps away), so I guess, this is the maximum range of modulation possible to emphasize the sense of distance and leaving.

This is a song that Steve wrote, and has released on his page. He sings it brilliantly, and plays guitar, too. He sent it to Josh to work on with him. Josh added the bass, strings, and organ. But it needed drums. And luckily he knows a great drummer named Ken, who added exactly what it needed. Then we sent it to Tez for a bit of his production and mixing wizardry. It's a totally different sound than we're all used to, but it was a lot of fun to put together. We hope you enjoy it, too.

  This is a song that began as a drum track that Ken came up initially as a beat for another SoundCloud user, who respectfully declined it. Instead of letting a solid track go to waste, Ken set it loose with JJ and Josh, who came up with an arrangement for the music over top of what they felt was a very killer beat. What was originally a jam, turned into a showcase of the entire Eclectic Collective. Josh also did some guitar work in this one, and with Stephen's brilliant harmony, came up with the opening theme that reoccurs about halfway through. His guitar can also be heard briefly right after the opening theme. Along with Stephen's other half of the theme, he is also responsible for the dynamic, climactic leads through most of it. Tez added his incendiary guitar to the final section, when all else was said and done, as a cherry on top. After all the tracks were in the digital can, we were lucky enough to have Stephen produce and mix it for us. 

  We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the winter holidays. We also hope you enjoy this ride as much as we enjoyed assembling the vehicle.

This song started as a full composition on all instruments by Rich. He asked Josh if he'd be interested in a collaboration with it. Josh jumped at the chance to share it with the Eclectic Collective. So, he invited the gang to join in, replacing most of the original instrumentation, and adding some new. 
     After Ken had added his driving, foundational drums, Josh added his bass to match. JJ soon after cranked up the funk-o-meter by adding his clave and screaming organ. Then, Josh added a guitar solo, which comes in right after Rich's intro. Stephen was up next with his badass licks in the third solo. Then Tez got a hold of it, and ripped a hole in the ether with his guitar in the last solo.
  Ken was generous enough to produce and mix this for us. And what an outstanding job he did, too. We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed making it.

Bottled Lightning-Eclectic Collective

Ich habe mir mehr als einmal erlaubt, mich hier den Werken anderer Künstler zu widmen, die kleine Orchesterstücke schreiben und diese der "Gattung" Soundtrack zuweisen wollen. Im 19. Jahrhundert war es namhaften Komponisten dagegen nur gegönnt, sogenannte "Ouvertüren" zu verfassen, die mal programmatisch, mal als Vorspiel, zu einer Oper oder einer Bühnenmusik verfasst wurden und  hier und da ein Eigenleben entwickelten. Ich habe bereits fünf Werke dieser Ausrichtung verfasst, die ich aber hier nicht einstellen möchte. Die Nr. 6 ist dagegen jetzt zu Pfingsten entstanden, ein Werk, dem ich eine gewisse Effektlastigkeit genausowenig vorenthalten wollte wie das, was andere hier in der Cloud unter Pathos und großen Gefühlen verstehen. Die Instrumentation halte ich für sehr gelungen, das thematische Material besteht aus drei Teilen und nicht von ungefähr gleitet die Harmonieebene mehrmals nach b-moll ab. Viel Freude beim Hören - und beim Verweilen in einer neuen Reise in meine Traumwelten.
