Mark Jenkyns is back onboard the Hot Creations imprint, this time featuring vocalist MC Chickaboo. 12 Stories (Mark & Chris Sylvester) are on remix duty for their debut on the label, and what a killer release it is!

‘On Me’ oozes with funk, groovy basslines and sonic madness, perfect additions to the Hot Creations catalogue and proving each of the artists involved know exactly what works on the dance floor. Getting heavy support from Jamie Jones & Richy Ahmed & Lee Foss, it looks like another hot-hitter from Hot Creations.

Mark hooked up with MC Chickaboo in light of her legendary work she did with Ewan Pearson & DJ Wildchild.  MC Chickaboo is a female drum and bass DJ and rapper from London. In 2002 she shot to fame when her collaboration with Timo Mass went to number one on the Billboard chart.

12 Stories is the fresh duo Mark Jenkyns and Christopher Sylvester and they will be making their full debut on Hot Creations early this summer..

New York newcomers Eskuche & Nu Sky (@eskucheandnusky) have wasted no time since launching onto the scene, first releasing on New York’s legendary imprint Nervous Records and garnering support from key tastemakers world wide including; Maya Jane Coles, Marco Carola, and pivotally, Jamie Jones & Lee Foss who in 2014 signed 2 tracks from the boys to Hot Creations for the ‘Acid Jump’ EP.

Having previously remixed for VIVa LIMITED last year on Russ Yallop’s ‘Darkside EP’, the boys now make a stark return to the label with an EP comprised of 4 original tracks plus a remix from Russ (@russ-yallop) on a quid pro quo tip. Stillhot has grown rapidly as a booking agency over the past few years, which ensures a dance-all-night feeling in clubs all over the world and full floors on festivals with its artists. Martin Eyerer, Alex Flatner and Benny Grauer have now decided to push this concept even further! As experienced label bosses of e.g. Kling Klong and Circle Music, it was obvious to add another department to Stillhot: a label! The main intention was to create a platform based on the family idea for the Stillhot artists, which gives everyone the freedom to release music without any influence from outside. There will always be alternating releases by the Stillhot crew on the new label, while the artists will keep on remixing each other.

The first release comes from the agency companions Markus Homm and Mihai Popoviciu. Those two didn’t produce a common release for ages. We remember countless strong Homm & Popoviciu singles on labels like Highgrade and various other imprints. Thus, we are more than happy to have this one first on the bill of Stillhot Records:

The kick-off comes with “Insomnis”, the title track of this EP. This is a housy deep piece of music, that skips in between Café Del Mar and a peaktime stomper for the night. The Berlin DJ, producer and label boss of Stillhot, Benny Grauer, interpreted this sound in his own way and at the same time stretched a typical Berlin-like style to the eight minutes playtime. With “Accent”, Markus and Mihai shoot out an oldschool-filled and very bass-heavy number and conclude the EP with “Taraon”, a percussive summer House track.

What a debut! The first of all releases on the new label Stillhot has really been successful and we can be looking forward to hearing more hot stuff, that’s already been scheduled!
