Sinfol’s Anagram Label readies Vol. 2 of its ‘Phasing Faces’ with driving techno from Octual, Mathame and Maukook.

Curated by Sinfol, the first installment launches the label’s 2017 with shadowy productions from Dävide, Anetha, Elad Magdasi and Sinfol. Meanwhile, in the second part, core label artist Octual helms the package with Krill Music and Souvenir Music producer Mathame and Maukook (aka DJ Playstation) delivering decadent cuts of their own.

Octual’s ‘Dark Sky’ meanders forward using sturdy kicks as dusky effects join tantalizing synths that grow all the more ominous as the track progresses. Syncopated percussion forms the basis of Mathame ‘Ural 2020’ before echoing nuances and ghostly pads come into play until the beatless intro of Maukook ‘Tribute To The Prince’ ushers in spectral melodies and intricate drums.

Mathame’s highly-anticipated ‘Nothing Around Us’ arrives on Afterlife Recordings this September 7th.
The richly talented duo Mathame featured on the second Realm Of Consciousness compilation and have since been regulars in the sets of Tale Of Us with some sought-after, unreleased tracks. Their distinctive treatment of vocals marks their tracks out instantly, nowhere more so than on ‘Nothing Around Us’, with the cyber voice of the young Italian artist Lyke. The top quality production and original sound continue with the more understated ‘22’ and end with another prime example of Mathame’s vocal work, ‘Fade Into You’. This EP is a bold statement that crystallises the well-deserved excitement around Mathame.

Vivrant's third release of the year follows up on the remix debuts from Hunter/Game and Locked Grove, and gives us a return from Jeremy Olander with melodic retro stomper 'Steps'. 

You don't know how much you miss something until it's no longer there, and never have we missed the inside of a rammed club as much as when we listen to 'Steps'. This uplifting, happy-go-lucky body of work with a distinct 80s retro vibes features Jeremy's trademark thumping energy and suspense that we know and love.

Albeit joyous in essence, the lead melody in 'Steps' still masterfully captures Jeremy's melancholic and omnipresent undertone, and adds a sour note to the otherwise saccharine lead, creating a perfectly balanced concoction for the spiring and summer.
