Arthur is a Berlin-based DJ, record selector, and curator whose name is almost synonymous with the legendary record store Hardwax. For more than a decade, he has been one of the key behind-the-scenes figures at this influential shop that has helped shape the landscape of global electronic music, responsible for curating and sourcing vinyl that has inspired countless DJs and collectors.

Arthur’s musical style is defined by deep Dub foundations and his distinctive approach to dance music, capable of uncovering the unusual and unexpected. He is also active at the club Open Ground for its curation.

A statement mix from the Dutch artist also known as A Made Up Sound, 2562 and ex_libris. 

What makes something sound like Dave Huismans? His music carries a signature you can't quite name, a tension which has defined every chapter of his career. And unlike most producers, he really does operate in phases. 

A man of many monikers, Huismans resurfaced this year after nearly a decade away with two new aliases, ex_libris and In Transit. His latest ventures, though sonically a world away from the work under his most recognised projects, share the same slipperiness, intricacy and disregard for tidy genre borders. 

"Naiveté and a lack of prejudice… a really wide-eyed type of open-mindedness," Huismans once told RBMA, recalling his youthful forays into dance music and that ethos is alive and well on RA.1015.

Huismans's second RA Mix is as equally thrilling as his first one 15 years ago, traversing a map of influences from Madlib and Gyrofield to Prince and Autechre.  There's no shortage of atmosphere (Losoul's "Sunbeams and the Rain" is one particular highlight), but the throughline is groove: soulful, vocal deep house into driving techy depths, walls of glitchy drums and frantic percussion into guitar funk. 

"I got carried away a bit," Huismans says of RA.1015 below. And that's no bad thing. It sounds like someone enjoying himself again, and perhaps, after letting a few old skins fall away, Huismans is ready to shift shape once more. And if it's anything like the last time, a lot of good music awaits.

Belfast’s SOPHIE steps up to the Local Selection with an hour of mind-bending cuts. Moving fluidly from low-slung bass grooves to shuffled Illian Tape-esque techno, hard-drum tribal weapons and beyond, firmly proving why she’s one of the island’s most exciting new selectors.

The Social Sounds boss has become a pillar of Belfast’s current scene. She’s part of a new wave of artists steering the vanguard of what can only be described as the city’s new underground guard. Her party offers a true alternative: left-field, challenging sounds that never veer into self-indulgence. It’s undeniably danceable, yet clearly driven by a desire to expand her crowd’s palette, and that’s exactly what SOPHIE has been striving for.

Her DJ approach mirrors this ideology: a wide-ranging, genre-flexible sound that travels through techno, house, dub and beyond. Her selections lean toward the left-field and forward-thinking, shaped by a clear understanding of how to command a dance floor without relying on the obvious.

This mix is an ode to that philosophy—nimble, light on its feet, but never treading lightly. She stacks one bass-heavy cut atop the next, whether it’s an overarching sub-bass monster or a broken-techno, 90s-leaning UK thriller. It’s a deliberate exercise in pushing the needle, channelling the spirit of artists like Skee Mask, a bold comparison, but one that feels earned.

The mix shocks and surprises at every turn, unconcerned with whether something “should” fit. It embodies what a DJ should do: present the music you love in a way that makes sense, regardless of how unconventional the route may be. And when it comes to connecting the dots in this sonic jigsaw, SOPHIE pieces it together immaculately.

We are happy to welcome Real Gang Soundsystem fascinating vibes in our trip through sounds. Miller and Nicolau have recently done enormous steps forward in shaping their sound towards an unique direction, and outstanding results followed shortly after.

Their recent ventures in Ibiza and now in Manchester for the winter-season confirmed the synergies between the two, and fits perfectly within the broader philosophy adopted by the crew they are part of, Real Gang.

Growth, group identity and authenticity are three of the main pillars not only in their personal life, but occupy a central space in the artistic one as well.

Extracted as part of their set for TRMNL closing party at LAB11 in Birmingham, we now present 1h43mins of cosmic vibes, a true declaration of intents for this year ahead.
