During a trip to defected in malta the first party was held at a huge outdoor venue called UNO. The main arena wasnt really my thing, so i decided to take a wander around this vast club, i stumbled upon a little stage with the words "staytrue" written in neon behind the dj booth. the music pumping out was incredible! It had harmony, melody, it’s mid tempo, the production stunning, even some oldschool licks.. I recognised the logo straight away but not really paid it much attention, so I promised myself to check it out when home. This mix is the result of that experience. At a time when mediocrity and artifice dilute and diminish dance music, Kid Fonque has formulated the antidote. 
Enter ‘Stay True Sounds’, a independent record label that places good taste over hits and longevity over trends. The label’s creative agenda is simple: to unearth, nurture and present real, evocative music. 
Stay True Sounds became a Defected sub-label in January 2023.. this mix highlights that experience in Malta. The mix is Recorded through a condesa carmen mixer, which enhances the already great quality of these productions. Enjoy!

Hello beautiful people! Welcome to Deep & Sexy Podcast #57. Every time I work on a podcast I feel so unbelievably joyful. You cannot imagine what it feels like to create something that I share with all of you. All the joy I have upfront by imagining what you’d think of the tracks, the journey and transitions and how it makes you feel. I truly hope it gives you as much joy as it does to me. Deep & Sexy Podcast #57 (Joy)

I was thinking about all the long waits in line for Burning Man tickets over the years and decided to give some of you something to listen to while the walking person icon slowly makes its way across the screen holding all our hopes in its little tiny pixel hands. 

The wait time  is usually about as long as it took to get from one side of the playa to the other last year after it rained and the playa shrimp rose up to attempt to take over the world!! 

Burning Mud. Mudding man. Raining man. Remember the wild stories (all from the outside media or Diplo and Chris Rock) vs the kindness and generosity of strangers out on the playa. I hope, even if faced with adversity last year, maybe, just maybe, you also saw how wonderful people can be when called upon in a ‘crisis’. 

I was lucky enough to stay until Tuesday night and grateful to still get to play a sunrise on the Robot Heart albeit a few days later than planned. There was so much love in the air that (finally) beautiful morning. If you missed it or want to listen once more or are just bored and looking for something to distract you while waiting in line for this years tickets (I’ll be waiting too) then here’s burning man/mud/magic 2023.  Feel the love in the air and the tickle of playa shrimp on the soles of your feet.
