We are back with the 2nd instalment of our “FROM THE VAULTS” series. This series brings back great memories of our catalogue’s finest sprinkled with some yet un-released cuts like "Flowers Don't Bend In The Rain" from our Irishman Neil Flynn. A track that sat on our hard drives for quite a bit. Summer of 2013 - final calls were made in setting up the label and our first releases – the track was part of a package which we got sent by a mutual friend and also included Neil’s “Louise” and “Connemara”. We always considered “Flowers Don’t Bend...” for a release but thought it might deserve a proper mixdown since the session was lost and the only thing we had was the bounce from back then so we put it aside. With our FROM THE VAULTS the tune came back on the table – still blown away by the emotions of the song we decided Mathias should use the old file, tweak the best possible master and we see where we end up. Well, here we are!

We are back with the 2nd instalment of our “FROM THE VAULTS” series. This series brings back great memories of our catalogue’s finest sprinkled with some yet un-released cuts. In 2017, we introduced another fruitful studio collaboration between two LOSSLESS label members – namely Trikk and Mathias Schober who teamed up as Internacional Electrical Rhythms. The duo released a bunch of forward-thinking tracks on the label – futuristic, rhythmic, emotive and deep are some the attributes1 popping up when trying to describe IER’s music. We chose the brilliant “Furia” from their first EP which definitely should be re-experienced on the post pandemic dancefloors.

Shooting star David Kochs delivering an eclectic and wild "202X" drum and synth for SBTH's "204D". Like few others of his generation Kochs manages to use very little to create great effect on the dancefloor. His superb melody writing is once again guaranteeing goosebumps on the dancefloor.

Permanent Vacation co-owner Tom Bioly aka TB delivered a deep peak time version of SBTH’s 2016 hit “Ribolla”. He takes the original that perfectly oscillates between deepness and italo glam and brings it into the world of melancholic late night moments that we all missed so dearly in the past two years.

Berlin-based DJ/Producer Mathias Schober is a man of a thousand disguises, it seems. Whether releasing under his full name, or aliases such as SHOW-B, SB, Mathias’ records consistently find themselves into the record boxes of the most highly esteemed DJs of the world such as Sven Väth, Dixon, Mano Le Tough, and Âme. Not only do the aforementioned figures rely on Mathias music for their sets but also for their own productions Mathias has built a reputation of being the go-to guy for the final touches. Âme, Frank Wiedemann, Marcus Worgull, Roman Flügel, Dixon, Steve Bug, Alex Niggemann, Tale of Us amongst other regularly work with Mathias for getting their tracks mixed properly. Mathias strong involvement in the early days of Red Bull’s studio dependance in Berlin is another prove for the man’s skills in the studio.

Over the years Mathias lent his expertise to finalise productions by the most prolific artists and labels out there (LCD Soundsystem, Kelsey Lu, Grimes, Solomun, Depeche Mode, Who Made Who, Chez Damier, Permanent Vacation, …)  But that’s not enough, Mathias also co-owns Lossless, a label that consistently proves to be at the forefront of electronic music. Projects that Mathias is involved are Internacional Electrical Rhythms with Trikk or SBTH with Mathias’ labelpartner Thomas Herb. Mathias’ vision aims to release music that can stand the test of time with a sound that fuses classic elements, with crisp kick drums, and motor city references. And exploring unchartered territories in the process.

Long overdue we welcome @love-over-entropy back on Lossless. Michel’s Antipodes EP is slightly different than what you’d expect from him without sacrificing his deep and hypnotic trademark sound. Typically a Love over Entropy release would be full of little details, tiny rhythmical changes, plenty of automation and small breaks but this one is different hence the name Antipode. Draw a line from any place on Earth through the center of the Earth and its diametrically opposite would be its antipode. Do you still follow? Good!

Antipode I is 13min long, it gradually builds and changes throughout the track and takes you on a journey without ever stopping and 13min later you’re somewhere else and haven’t even noticed. Endless flow. Antipode I (My Discotom is bigger than yours) grows from the same seed as the original but reminds more of early Chicago house grooves and adds a spaced-out Discotom that beautifully guides through its 6:35. Endless groove. Putting an end to this lovely EP is Fulmar, a slow and dubby Love over Entropy groover. A blend of the Antipodes idea and Michel’s Autumnal track, taken from an earlier EP on Lossless. Endless atmospheres.
