I met Blake in a place called JJ's while i was traveling through Chattanooga. it was mid day and I had played there the night before, I had come back to grab an amp we forgot. He chatted me up and we had a drink. he was pretty wasted, but he told me he was heart broken, and when he found out I was an artist he perked up and sang this song for me "I cried too many times". it was really gorgeous. It was like something out of a movie. I asked him if he wanted to record it. "hell yeah" he obliged. so we went over to my buddies house who had a small set up in his garage we recorded 2 takes of this track. The 2nd verse on the original take was ruined because of a fire truck that had driven right next to us. After the session he basically drifted into the night but before he left I made sure to ask him about publishing if we ever decided to put it out. He seemed to have zero interest in that, "Go ahead and put it out however you want man" last week I found the old computer it was on and heard it for the first time in years, it was astonishing.I'm putting the record out in hopes that he one day he hears it. Blake if you're reading this, please say whatsup.
