DnB inspired underground garage set, soulful two-step with some break beat tracks thrown in to spice it up (1996-2002). b4 there was dubstep there were the underground sounds coming out of the streets of London (and the rest of the UK, to be fair).

I thought I'd put together a mix that reminded me of the early morning sets I used to play in the London clubs and on Upfront 99.3 fm (big up all the krew). I've not heard anyone playing these types of tracks so I thought I'd upload the mix. Forgive the first transition as that first track is seriously off beat and it's almost impossible to blend anything into it. From there on it's pretty tight. 

Setting the scene: it's 3 or 4 am and people are starting to get tired and are thinking of going home. Then you drop that 1st track and it just blows the place up, follow up with some deeper tracks, grinding sub-bass grooves and soulful vocals and it's all over. About 1/3 rd through and it's time to start picking up the pace with some heavier beats and driving basslines - hold tight it gets a bit dark n dirty towards the end - it's like a virus...

As always, maximum respect to the artists, producers n engineers that made these tracks - outstanding production.
