My House in Chicago captures the live recording of people taking turns on the microphone during a party at my house.  A hot mic and a non-stop loop captured some funny sounds that are all carefully added into this trippy underground house track. MHIC pays tribute to the original House music sounds of Chicago. The bridge takes a detour to classic electro and returns with one final chorus blending it all together to finish it off. This song started as a joke, but it sounded too good not to release. :)

Otra Vez is a dance remake of Julian Vena's "Otra Vez", the acoustic version written early in his music career. A fan favourite, Otra Vez is a song about a girl who seems to be creating angst and uncertainty in a relationship. The lyrics of this piece paint a good picture of what was being felt at the time. You can literally see the city street lights, and feel the complexity between two lovers. 

This remake uses the original Spanish guitar that was used to record the original song, making its way back into the studio years later. The only way to truly capture the original sound was to use the exact same guitar. Luckily, this beautiful instrument was passed down from our Grandfather to our Mother, who was kind enough to let us use it for our own likings, yet again. Thanks Mom.

This is a tribute to my little brother, Julian, and how it all began for him. After writing Otra Vez, he would go on to develop an incredible talent for music, and write dozens of amazing songs with his band Debello. Debello was a Chicago Latin music experience that was unlike anything else around.

Started writing at 15.  Parents bought me a drum set and my brother a guitar, and we started playing together in our basement. Eventually, we could play cover songs well, and began recruiting some of our friends to join the fun. A few years later we had a band.

My 1st recorded project was with my band Fertility. Fertility was part of a very special time in the Chicago music scene. In the beginning, we played countless local shows at churches, parking lots, auto body shops, farms, barns, and underground bowling alleys, just to name a few. We consistently passed out flyers to kids all over our town and littered our high school with paper flyers promoting our shows. Eventually, with a lot of practice and persistence, we shared the stage with then upcoming acts Fall Out Boy, The Plain White T's, Lucky Boys Confusion, and played at the coolest venues in Chicago. We were very lucky to have been part of a local scene that just does not exist anymore in the same fashion. It was a moment in time that we will never forget, and even recorded a few songs at the same studio that some of our idols recorded at. It was an unbelievable experience to say the least.

Today, I DJ, and produce, and sing. I like to fuse a lot of styles together. Many of the songs have their own vibe and tell different stories.

I love working together with other artists. You might notice some of my latest single releases are collaborative efforts. Making music with other artists is essential to your own growth as a musician.
