Matibhrama are proud to present their debut EP on BMSS, "Taku Wakan". Inspired by the narratives of Native American tribes, the release takes the listener on an ancestral journey through mystical shamanic rituals. Based on the entrancing evocation of primeval spirits, each of the 3 tracks invites us to delve deep inside our consciousness to discover our totem animals: Aku Wakan (“the sacred”), Maka Mahpee (“between sky and earth”) and Oyate (“tribe”).

The EP has been constructed holistically, with the artwork carefully crafted to reflect the music: the sensitive hand-painted piece by French artist Bellule captures the atmosphere of the EP perfectly with her symbolic representation of a transcended physical world.

Through "Taku Wakan", Matibhrama deliver their trademark fusion of electronic and instrumental music. This unique alliance between psychedelic trance and live tribal music allows us to waver magically between soaring ethnic stratospheres and earth-bound tribal roots. At once moving and grounding, "Taku Wakan" offers the dancefloor a captivating vision of the future of Ethno Trance, propelled by ground-shaking primordial rhythms.

Jedi’s Chillout | Arökem

Matibhrama is a duo made up of Fabien and Pierre. The musical project is born from the fusion of tribal sounds, world music and electronic production stemming from psychedelic trance.

Matibhrama creates a dynamic and spellbinding musical universe comprised of psychedelic melodies, ethnic grooves and shamanic chanting. The blending of different live instruments like acoustic and electric guitar as well as more traditional instruments like the didgeridoo, the tambour and various flutes (bansuri, quena, overtone), combined with the electronic sounds of synthesizers, will transport you to the depths of their powerful musical realm.

Matibhrama draws its inspiration from combined ancestral, traditional and contemporary music; seeking out new musical winds, their multicultural immersion has given light to a unique genre. Originally from France, Matibhrama is always looking for new musical breaths throughout the world. Travelling and learning from other cultures is a fundamental aspect in their artistic development. Traditional songs, ancient instruments, new technique; the duo translates its experience into music.

Sharing 13 years on stage, Matibhrama signs to the Oreades Productions record label (France) in 2012 and joined BMSS records (Germany) in 2015. From Universo Parallelo (Brazil) to Fusion festival (Germany), PSY-FI (Netherlands), Hadra Festival (France), Freqs of nature Festival (Germany), Atman festival (Srilanka), Timeless festival (Canada), Sun festival (Hungary), Son Libre (France), Transition festival (Spain), Imagineria festival (Italy), Terra Em trance festival (Brazil)... and many other European and South American stages, Matibhrama offers an imaginative live show that carries you around the world in a collective music experience.

Koh Sun has been obsessed with electronic music & mixing tunes since the age of 16 (the year 2013). 
Nowadays he enjoys delivering eclectic and imaginative psychedelic journeys whenever he gets the chance, in between his work as a fluorescent decor artist.
Previously known as Amphibian Basslover, now he simply uses his birth name as an alias, as he enjoys mixing a wide variety of styles and doesn't wish to be tied down to a particular genre.

Having been surrounded by parties and psychedelic music since he was a kid, it wasn't until he reached a certain age that the fires of passion awoke within him and he began his own personal musical journey.
Beginning with Electroswing and Ghettofunk, he then experimented with many styles over the years such as Trap, Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Glitch Hop, House, Psy Chill and Downtempo, before eventually finding his particular resonance with Psytrance, mostly mixing organic dark progressive and energetic forest psy.

Now he still enjoys listening & playing a wide spectrum of music, and his mixes are characterized by an eclectic selection of underground sounds, long blended transitions and audacious track combinations, creating a varied and immersive journey that's impossible to resist dancing to.
His favourite music is one that dances the line between light and dark, all the while keeping a cheeky sense of humour and maximum groove.

You'll usually find him at the front row of the dancefloor, having it large, lifting the vibes while dressed in a multicoloured costume, like a space squid or a forest spirit.
Though nothing gets him fired up like taking everyone on a cosmic journey into the unexpected and expressing his soul through electronic soundscapes.
He's now tired of talking about himself in the third person, but it seems the done thing with DJ bios so there you go.
