In honor of the gawd's birthday, Sean Price, I'm posting up this remix I did for producer Cook Classics' project "The New Classics", which was released in February 2009.  The song featured emcees Cymarshal Law, Sha Stimuli, & of course Kimbo Price himself, Sean P, with the scratch hook by the homie Dj Inka One. Cook asked me to participate on the project by doing a remix for the song. I was honored.  The original version was dope already because it was some classic Boom Bap Hip Hop, so I wanted to do it justice by flipping it with a more darker feel. Everything was the same except I add scratches on the outro.  The remix never made it on the project but Cook was gracious enough to release separately.  But the biggest surprise & compliment is when Sean called me outta nowhere & said he loved the remix, and basically said "Send me some beats son!".  That practially made my day.  Sean Price is one of my favorite MC's & I'm very lucky to know him personally, but unfortunately I never had the opportunity to officially work with him. HipHopDX Premiere: Ahead of his upcoming debut album, Here, Halifax, Nova Scotia native ChanHays has shared a slice of the album titled “Running,” which features Skyzoo, Elzhi and Uptown XO.

Previously released singles include “New Bag” with The Cool Kids, one of several features on the project. ChanHays addressed the diversity found on his album in the press release.

“I wanted a wide range in the sound to showcase my production,” he said. “I feel I can do it all. That said, there’s a continuity throughout the tracks and the artists featured. These are artists I’ve been a fan of for years and I think I’ve given them backdrops on which they can really flex.”

Sean Price & Small Professor’s already-dope “Latoya Jackson”—as featured on their collaboratively released ’86 Witness’ project—is brought “Back to the Old School” on this neck-snapping remix now accompanied by BK legend Masta Ace. Small Pro tweaked the beat to give it a more old school feel to complement Ace and the late P’s bugged out bars, with cuts courtesy of DJ Revolution. This remix is an official Record Store Day selection and will be available this Saturday, Sept. 26 on 7” classic black vinyl with the orignial version on the flip, throughout participating RSD shops throughout the country. Online sales for this release will also be available starting at 1pm EST this Saturday via fatbeats.com, our online store, as well as Small Pro’s Bandcamp page. The track becomes available on Friday, Sept. 25th through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms in partnership with Coalmine Records.
