DJ MORI is an essential part of our club. If you are a regular guest at our club you probably have seen and listened to him. As a charming person he is everybody's best friend and as a dj he delivers exactly what we want: a fine blend of functional house, dub techno and techno with no other aim than to rock the dancefloor, as easy as that. It took us a while to finally get a set of DJ MORI for our podcast series, but here we go finally!

A typical Kittball release can be recognised by the fresh sound, deep bass and a tiny pinch of irony.

Now, celebrating 10 years as a label, Kittball Records drops its 100th release featuring tracks from the label’s founders, regulars and some special guests to boot.

With that, we continue our new series here and in conjunction with Deep House Amsterdam, highlighting some of our favourite labels around the world, we thought we would catch up with Juliet Sikora and get the scoop on all things Kittball Records. Here, you will find information on the label’s history, ethos, releases and future. As you can probably tell by know, we are asking each respective label owner the same questions. Mat.Joe began as a project between Matthias and Johannes, two young men based in Berlin with a deep connection to music. Back in 2006, Rap, Breakdance and Skateboarding were the passions that kickstarted their friendship and this deep connection is reflected in their music. In 2008, they formed the producer team Twomanics and concentrated on authentic and credible hip hop productions for independent artists.
As of 2024, Matthias takes on his music career as an individual, carrying the legacy that Mat.Joe has built over the last decade. Over the years, Mat.Joe has developed their trademark sound of house beats paired with rhythmic soul and hip-hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough. Inspiration is found everywhere between subway rides, late night showers and favorite bars - and new ideas are always on the way, evolving with the always-changing culture of dance music and growing with the artist.
