I'm not well and holed up at home. Boredom sets in, this is the pinnacle of my ability to concentrate. Messing around with some new drum patches, a few samples, and a Bouzouki patch that I will probably never use again...

Debra (Vote Debra Gray Soundtrack)

The idea is a simple one. Once a week, I'll be trying to keep this up. 

1. Go to http://tinyurl.com/mwenjx (it's a Random Word Generator). 

2. The first word that comes up, is the word you have to musically describe. 

3. You then have ONE hour (including any mixing, mastering, tea breaks etc) to come up with a minute of audio that somehow describes that word. For example, if your word was 'Chocolate', you might think of something that would be a good background piece for a chocolate advert, or something that reminds you of chocolate. 

4. No cheating! It can't use any previous ideas or pieces of music. It has to be an original idea that springs from this word.

I've stolen the idea from my arty girlfriend who is doing something similar with sketches. It's great fun and good composing practice!

Finally cracked out the microphone! Started playing around with vocal acting and sound effect creation. This one is based on the Protoss from Starcraft.
