After two years DJ Matpat comes back with his next release, Pocket Locket. Serving a range of House Music from Mello to Pumping & Deep straight from the MPC to the Dancefloor, these tracks have been tested and run through. The Art Work by BAD is ripped from the Club Congress 9 Year Anniversary party flyer happening this month, in Philly, at VOID one of RA's Sacred Spaces.

Starting at the age of 13 with a crate of his big brothers records DJ Matpat has taken the time to develop a sound of his own rooted in House Music, all the while acquiring a wide breadth of musical knowledge to underpin his ethos of "playing the right song for the right moment". As a producer he has released on a range of different labels including Derrick Carter’s Persnickety All Stars & Stretch Armstrong's Plant Music. Mat's productions have gained support from DJs such as Kerri Chandler (dropping "Everybody Rise" on the Essential Mix), Maya Jane Coles, Lucy, Joris Voorn, & Busy P among others. Between fronting his label CLUBBY BOY & continuing his 9 year running party CLUB CONGRESS in both Philadelphia and New York, 2024 is looking to be an exciting year for the American producer.

Six months after their last installment, Shir Khan and Exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. As usual, there's much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, Rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of Antilope's "Singing Ghost" rework. Death On The Balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on "Addict For Your Love", whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. Finally, Matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut "Only You" which sits somewhere between Rahaan and Soundstream. Excellent stuff all round.

These tracks really span the past 10 years of my production and have all been placed aside for when the time is rite for an LP. Along with the single tracks, LADYMONIX was kind enough to create a mixed version of the record complete with voicemails from friends that I have collected through out this time of isolation. I always wanted to release a mix of original trax & having Monix’s hand as the final touch just feels rite. Artwork by the amazing BAD.
