Artomatic 2016 Live - Sea of Tranquility

Audio track composed for The Migration of Pestilence, a collaborative art installation with visual artists, Ellyn Weiss, Sondra Arkin and Veronica Szalus. The recording was performed live on a modular synthesizer, and includes field recordings done for the composition, as well as public domain samples. The recording explores motifs that include freeze/thaw, water, wind, swarming, displacement of knowledge with faith, distortion of religion, human migration, and formation of petroleum and hydrocarbons.

Track recorded using only the Recursive Machine analog synthesizer.

Recursive Dream

Stereo field recording of the sound of high tension powerlines that cross the Potomac River between Maryland and Virginia. The electrical drone shifts as wind blows across the towers and the lines. Towards the beginning of the recording a woman rides by on horseback.

Power Lines Across the C&O Canal

LOM geophon recording of trees in the forest. The geophon probe was placed in the trunk of a dead tree that had rotted and collapsed against a living tree. The two trees were rubbing against each other (in a totally non-sexual way) as the winds blew through them.
