Once again Impish and Vasilisa return to Occulti with some new stuff to show, and this time its a 6 track album "Underwater", which brought  together the material written in the course of 2008 to 2013.
The mini album is dramatically simple in its concept, but deeply soaked with rainy vibes and loaded with powerful bass lines that have proven themselves worthy over the years on Moscow's underground dance floors. The two dark dance floor shakers Keep Quiet and Tunnel have been chosen for the 12inch vinyl. The CD topped off with beautiful photograph by Ilya Kisaradov is released alongside with the vinyl. It contains the oldest and the most stormy of the tracks Don't Let Me Down, the heartfelt Why, Lonely Street and Haze, which has been released on vinyl in the early 2014 at the fellow label Audio Plants and had already make some noise on the dance floors.

Track started in my 'liquid era', circa April 2023. Back when I had the courage to write for the Piano.
Somewhat a followup to City Streets - this was made in the same era.

➔ About the Album
Collection of Liquid Drum & Bass works from 2021~2024.
This album is a testament to almost 4 years of producing, while still not finding what I truly enjoy making. Perhaps, one could say I'm lost. But at the same time, I've been lost forever yet I've never felt like it was truly a problem. So Let's hope the next few years are equally filled with both ups and downs - I think this is what makes my life so interesting.
Liquid DnB has been a great genre to produce over the years, with inspiration by Makoto, LSB, Harry Shotta, and many more. While being a genre I sometimes consider as 'lazy' or 'uninspired', I still think it's one of the widest subgenres of drum & bass, considering the range of instruments---both synthetic and acoustic---which can be used.

The cover artwork and video visuals are a love letter to my magnificent country and region - the French Alps, and showcase something I really enjoy: taking deep breaths outside through driving, hiking or cycling. The photo was taken in 2023 during a bivouac and is the westside of Taillefer from the Plateau des Lacs, and various videos were taken from 2021 to today on various trips and hikes, by car, foot or bicycle.

A. DORIAN & SKORE – SPRING FEVER

Fluttering, surging drum patterns come in perfect time for the changing season. There’s no surprise at why Noisia likes Skore. Subtle melodies play in the background while the beats drive towards dance floor creation. The bass drops, growling amidst old school samples that bring us back, while the drums pile on like last night’s buffet dinner.
 

B. RAFAU ETAMSKI – FEEL ME

Syncopated drums fill the air as sweeping pads introduce the sweet vocal. The sweet male voice that sings to a lady that has drifted millions of miles away from his heart can be found tagging the dance floor into a sea of ecstasy. You might just want to close your eyes and let the vibrations sweep you off your feet. Soulful.


C. CARTER & SALEM – MAGDALENA

Chilled out and rolling, acoustic strings imitate a beach-laden sunset, as sweet piano keys make their entrance to a wide audience, before strings cue the drop. Rolling vibes light up the place as the strings take to the foreground. So blissful and lush, sub-bass rolls along the floor. The break brings a soul-soaring string interlude, prior to the cello taking the stage once again, as the drums and bass roll out.


D. FLASHBACKFM & READSENSE – PLEASE

Shakers and a meloncholy piano bring in this melodic number. Please plays out the classic liquid vibes, featuring emotional vocals, and a drumbeat that plays to the crowd.
